Why is it so hard for people like you to understand that the coach isn't the team? People can support the university and players without being a fan of the coach.

That was one of Fulmer's biggest problems IMO, he thought he was UT football. At the end he failed to understand that he was the coach and maybe the face of the program and nothing more.

Seriously, that was a joke. Congrats on your 81 years. I would love to pick your brain for the history you have experienced. Also, blind faith is not an indication of anything positive. I rarely post here, but I had to get this off of my chest If you are a fan of this team and organization then support them. If you are unhappy with the current hirings and firings of this coaching staff that's fine, but please don't go around spreading negativity on this forum or other forums and websites. Recruits do visit these sites. Im sure they would rather play for a program that has fans who support them. Coach Jones is the coach here now whether you agree with it or not. If you dont want to support this team then go become a fan of some other team, but if you are a fan I hope you start acting like one. Im excited as I know many others are as well and I like where this program is headed. That is all!

Butch hasn't done anything wrong. There is no reason not to support him. He is the coach of Tennessee. Until he does something to earn the disrespect and non-support he's getting, I think we should support him. Dooley earned the negativity he received. Butch has not. Some fans need to stop acting like they have some sort of pull or say so of who is going to coach this team

Listen I am not bashing just saying that I do not buy into his rah rah . He has talked now it is put up or shut up time. If you want to jump in and ordain him the savior of our program then do it. You all say he is a hard worker and will bust his hind end to get us back and that has hooked you , GREAT. I am saying: CBJ go to work and prove to me you are a good coach, show me you are going to hire the best staff in America not your buddues from Cinci, Show me that you are a good salesman and can get players to believe in you like some of the people on here have. I do not make 3 million a year and what I do make I work my tail off for and have to do it everyday so I get to keep my job by giving my employer results not a bunch of talk. He has to win me over as well, so I do not see the problem with what he said. Listen there are many ways to earn peoples trust here. Do not say you are going to bring in the top coaching staff in the country then go get all your boys from Cinci. Then you start making the team work their rears off in the off season. He needs to knock it out of the park THIS year in recruiting (top fifteen at the least) because the big splash hire could of done that. When game time comes around we need to be competitive in every game. If we lose because they are better thats fine but if everytime we go aginst someone like that and we get boat raced like we have been doing that is not going to sit well. And you say he needs time to get his players. I thought he could coach to what the players on the rosters strengths were? Do not start making excuses. So CBJ you have talked the talk now walk the walk. GBO!

Nothing but winning will resolve this, and calling out other fans just makes it worse.

I agree actually. Hart once again did UT no favors. The fanbase is as fractured as ever if not more. I hate bammers.

No where in my post did I say that he has done anything wrong. Having said that though, I will continue to support the players 100% and I'll wait and see what Jones can do as a coach in the SEC and at the University of Tennessee.

A year from today we will know what kind of staff he can assemble, whether he could sway any big time prospects for the 2013 class, what caliber of commitments he can get for the 2014 class, and whether he is either a nimrod or an overachiever as a game manager. Obviously, there will still be a lot of grey area but I think that there will at least be enough information on which to make an educated guess as to how he will do here.

To make an educated guess you would have to have some training in the area you are making an educated guess in. With almost 25,000 posts I do not think you have time for any kind of education or training except for making stupid unrealistic comments on a web site. If you really think you can make an educated guess after the first year then shut up until the first year is over. Get a grip and give someone a chance to do his job (something you probably don't have). Be a fan or be gone.

I am A TENNESSEE VOL FAN . gruden never wanted the job. your delusional thoughts that he did have stank up this board for years. This post doesn't quite qualify you for "hero" status, but you've earned the title of "white Knight". A white knight post is usually pretty generic and usually an unabashed attempt at fishing for likes. I can live with this one...you seem sincere enough.

I don't see any OL going pro other than Thomas who is a senior. The juniors don't even project into the top 5 rounds. They would be idjuts to go this year.

Hunter and CP likely gone. Bray is projecting mid to late 3rd round, which says he should stay, but he is definitely capable of making a bad decision.
