To heck with Ohio State, 2024 was a good year!

If we are all being honest, no one expected our schedule to be so easy. We have had schedules in the past that this team would have gone 6-6 against.

This was the worst 10 win team we have ever had.

You could say that about a lot of teams, notably some of the recent Georgia National Title teams that didn't necessarily have the most difficult schedule.

I personally think 2024 was an odd year across the board. The SEC had a lot of teams that played a "quote" soft schedule like Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Missouri, etc. The reasoning was there were a lot of teams that fell of the map that were projected to be good like Michigan, Oklahoma, Washington, USC, NC State, Florida State, etc. The playoff seeding was one of the worse seeding setups that I have ever seen and even if there was 0 change in the system, we will likely get a better setup next year (maybe not great but it can't be this bad as the stars had to align to get such a messed up seeding).

Oh please. If someone made the statement in a different year that “our schedule was reallly tough, this is the best 7-5 team we’ve ever had,” you and the other negas would jump down their throat. Moral losses don’t count any more than moral victories do.
Bragging about 7-5 dumb, though. You aren’t that good if you go 7-5.

😂😂🤡🤡🤡. This will easily qualify in the category of Dumbest Post of the Year in the annual Vol Nation Awards. Do you think that anybody is going to care? When you look at the record book, all you’ll see is 10-3 and a playoff berth. At the end of the day, nobody cares how you got there. They only want to know the result.

You are close to replacing Cavput as the saddest sack on the site. (Sorry Cav.)
Nobody is really going to care about what we did this year, though. At least in 2022 we had an all time moment when we beat Bama.

Those Georgia teams still beat the best teams on their schedule. We didn’t. We also didn’t take care of business against the cupcakes either.

Keep digging that hole. We beat Bama this year too AND made the playoffs. Most of us will remember it. Lost in the playoffs to the best team money could buy.

Overachieved compared to many’s preseason expectations. Health is a big part of every season. I think that with a healthy Sampson and Thornton we could have played the OSU game pretty tight. We got blitzed at the beginning but we also were without our best weapon. We grind out a couple first downs and a slow score and maybe we have time to settle down and adjust. Of the 12 teams in the playoff, I think we still were a top three team at least. Other that that buzz saw, when healthy I thought we were at least a 50-50 game with everyone else if not favored in most of those matchups

It was a better year than I expected but it also showed some glaring issues we're going to have to fix to actually make a run and be an elite team

Ohio State had more starters who came there out of high school than we did. You can also use money to buy teams legally, so I’m not sure that insult holds weight like it used to. Can’t claim moral victories because the other players are paid.

Yes it is dumb, just like it’s dumb to be griping about 10-2, which is the point I was making.
If you’re content with being an 8-4 program, give or take a game or two based on schedule difficulty, then that’s fine. I just don’t know if being a member of a fanbase that wants to win championships is for you if that’s the case.

Not an insult. They were simply better than us. Just a simple statement of fact that they were bought and paid for. Doesn’t matter if they were high school kids or transfers. They have a $24 million NIL budget which is about double what we have. And I can assure you theirs is going to get bigger and the gap is going to widen.

Bottom line- You made an absurd statement about the worst 10-3 team we’ve ever had and now you are talking about everything but that. Try to stay on task.

Oh I stand by that statement. There have been schedules that this team would have gone 7-5 or 6-6 against.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Ain’t but one bottom line and this is a bottom line business. The record will always say 10-3 and a playoff berth. Nothing else matters. I’ve already wasted too much time with this silliness. Carry on.

Yeah the record was what the record was. Pretending that team was impressive or enjoyable to watch or that we are right where we wanna be because “10-3! PLAYOFFS!” is incredibly disingenuous.

You’re like one of those ****** parents who wants to be friends with their kids rather than raising them with discipline and expectations.
Dude grow up. You made an idiotic statement. Your screen name nails you. You said nobody is gonna remember this past year. UF you truly believe that then a couple things are true.

One. You are a very young fan who doesn’t know that much about the history of this program and its fan base. Two. You just aren’t really a fan. No real fan would post the trash you usually do.

No TN fan will remember this past year? Dude most of us still remember the terrible lose to UCLA in 1994 and the 1996 Memphis loss. We also remember the 1997 SEC championship win over Auburn. We remember being the first team to go undefeated and win it all in the BCS era. But keep up your ridiculous miserable trash posting. We all need something to laugh at.

You basically just said that fans remember bad losses and championship wins. If you’re going to gatekeep fandom like you are so desperate to do, try not to be sound like such a Captain Obvious idiot.

I can tell you where I was at for every single Tennessee football game this century. I will remember this season. But it isn’t a “memorable” season. This season will be remembered about like 1987 season was. Not nearly as fondly as the season two years before it and without a real signature moment. In 15 years, kids who are looking at old UT records will see that and wonder why Dad never talks about 2024 like he does 2022. And it’s because this year sucked to watch.

8-4? We just went 10-3 so what am I missing here? All of us on here want UT to win a championship. I’m sure you and a select few others will find something to complain about if we do.

There’s more to life than ball, man. Go fishing or something. Read a book.

I mean I really can't disagree with the memorable season or that this team would have struggled with past SEC scheduling. I think we had a good season but I wouldn't say memorable outside beat Bama and UF. Outside those two things and being in the first 12 team playoff but with that comes with the getting skull drug by OSU who was clearly superior. I would say to me it is a stepping stone and if you want to eventually be great we have to take the next step. Go Vols

Well we certainly know you couldn’t take being a Buckeye fan, they demand excellence. You want a mediocre Kumbaya.
Your Knowledge of Tennessee history is showing….If you really want to troll try studying a little harder. The last time I looked (Tenn vs OS) 1 and 1. As far as demanding excellence I just settle for loyalty be my Country, family,or Sports team. As far as Ohio
hell they don’t even season their beans up there and put sugar in their cornbread. Tell me what’s excellent about that.
