To pardon or not to pardon? That is the question.

Not a bad idea at all . :) . . Actually now that I think about it, Bill Clinton and Scooter Libby committed the exact same crime.

indeed

but I must say...the circumstances were quite different....but, a law is a law is a law

I wonder if the commutation of Libby's jail sentence is intended to purchase his silence on certain issues.

quid pro quo, ya know.

edit:

I found this link at Drudge, it's a list of all of Clinton's pardons. I'm including it not because I'm an anti-Clinton partisan, but rather one pardon in particular.

I'm a liberal, by and large, and don't really care if Bush pardons Libby or commutes his sentence. Its his right and politics motivate a lot of these things in every administration. In that sense, whatever.

I do think it is another example of this administration acting in secrecy and gamesmanship and thinking itself and its minions above the law and, more importantly, common sense of decency and fair play. Cheney over the last few years has proven that the only thing greater than his willingness to engage in some pretty hard hitting and below the belt tactics is his arrogance in refusing to be held accountable.

He's just so convinced that he's right about everything that he will simply beat the living crap out of anyone that dares to disagree and shed light on the contempt with which Cheney holds everyone but the true believers in his own camp.

He's simply an arrogant (fill in your favorite curse word describer).

Bill Clinton should have just claimed that bjs in the oval office were an executive privilege....it would have saved us a whole lot of trouble and an impeachment

This picture is begging to be photoshopped

 I can almost hear her growling through the smile "Take the damn picture already!"

:lolabove: I bet Bill bases his rate for appearances on how much time he is required to spend with Hillary. No Hillary, low rate, a lot of Hillary, break out the checkbook.

Drudge is reporting that the White House has not ruled out a pardon for Libby down the road. That is what gamblers call a mortal lock.
