To Protect and to Serve II

Letting them escape and catching them later.

Most pursuits I went on were cancelled by commanding officer due to conditions, speed, etc. I agree once it becomes dangerous it needs to end, but there are plenty of issues with just allowing escape and catching later.

I agree that there are times when a chase is warranted. I think those are few and far between and should be a rarity.

Guy I went to HS with was a Roanoke City cop and was in a high speed chase over some traffic violation, the guy being chased eventually ran a red light and ended up killing a mother and her kid and a passenger in his car. It destroyed Timmy (the cop). IMO they are just not worth it the majority of the time.

I don't disagree, it's just a crappy situation all around. Both departments I worked for had a strict no pursuing motorcycles policy. The key for a criminal is to have a bike as an escape vehicle. Never get caught.

Sucks that they can get away but to me that's the least dangerous scenario in most cases.

We knew that Hendersonville cop that was killed last year chasing some minor crooks. I sat my SIL down after that and told him he better not leave my daughter a widow doing something so stupid like that.

I knew him as well. Probably know your son in law. I'm okay letting that info go since I'm out of it now.

Teen boy fatally shot by Chicago police officer in 'armed confrontation'
I am critical of the police in many cases but unless something comes out of the investigation that he had put his gun down, he caused his own death.

I understand his mom is distraught but he was hanging around with an adult who was having a negative influence on him. He wanted to be a police officer?🤔

😴
The mother said her son wanted to become a police officer when he grew up.

“He was so full of life,” she told the news station. “They just took it away from him.”

13 year old hanging out with a 21 year old..... mom where was your son?

Yep, this kid was being initiated into gang life. The adult who was with him is responsible and should never see the light of day again. Horrible, but again another example of parents placing blame on police unfairly. A 13 year old with a pistol is just as lethal as an adult, very sad situation.

No blame from the mother in the article on the 21 year old. No blame for not knowing where your child is. You can’t let your kids slip into the streets and not expect bad things to happen.

It shouldnt even be news MSM stirring the pot once again

What did I miss here? What was the entire point of this video?
Satire. The cops came in to break up a church service, and this Youtuber was playing the part of the typical cop bootlicker. Only thing is, normally, the cop bootlickers are all fine and dandy defending police when it comes to certain issues, but seem to have a change of heart when it comes to something that actually affects their lives.

Meh... 50/50 that these cops get the message. I think we have far too many cops that have a personality disorder to where they love dishing out orders and commands to people. That is how they get their jollies. They want to play like the cops on TV, that's why they engage in these high speed chases and are itching to use lethal force.

If we actually had oath takers instead of majority oath breakers, I would feel a lot better.
