That officer put himself in that position. That video sure looked like the intent was not to hit him but to get through the only area he left open for the vehicle. Why not block off the entire road? If he was scared he could have jumped out of the truck once he blocked the road. Instead he gets in the only area the vehicle has to go and then claims she was trying to hit him. This is a piss poor excuse for him to kill someone. No matter what mistakes that woman made, and yes she made mistakes, she did not deserve to get gunned down.I would’ve have never initiated pursuit over the license plate however she clearly tried to run the officer over.
I 100% agree with your first two sentences. After that you take away all the idiotic choices the officer made and just blame the lady driving. Both were wrong but only 1 is dead. It should have never happened.Personal accountability.
Survive the incident and if you’re treaded badly sue someone.
Running from the police is never a good idea. And driving at them when they’re out of the car is asking to get shot. We’re in serious need of police reform but this is 100% the fault of the driver
For me it looks like he pulled next to the truck to block her in, and she sped up...it happened quickly, you could debate whether he shouldve exited the car or not, but she 100% tried to kill him by running him over. Hate to say it but if that was my daughter and the cop got off, I would put a bullet between his eyes and not think twice about it. Jail or death be damned.
BS. Not having a tag on the car is not or should not be a felony. Chasing a car through a neighborhood over that is BS. Trying to block the road but being so inept you leave room for the car to get through so your only reaction is to jump in front of it is BS. Then because you jumped in front of the car you cry “she was trying to kill me” to justify shooting her 6 times.Well one was doing their job legally and one was committing multiple felonies...Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out which was at fault
Yea CPR isn't going to help in this case, although you might want to at least appear to for civil purposesI read the story behind this. He knew the gal. I'm not sure of their history but it was strange.
I also watched the unedited video. They never administered CPR. It was stated in the article that she had a gun shot to the head that was instantly fatal, maybe that was why.
3 weeks ago a 2 girls were rescued from a human trafficking situation in Florida. The reason they were rescued…..the car didn’t have a tag and a state trooper tried to pull them over…..BS. Well, as long as it is to save the children...3 weeks ago a 2 girls were rescued from a human trafficking situation in Florida. The reason they were rescued…..the car didn’t have a tag and a state trooper tried to pull them over…..
if you’re not doing anything wrong beyond not having a tag then pull the hell over and take the ticket. Running is an escalation and just plain stupid.

He's under no obligation to allow her the means to flee and put others at risk. She saw her path was blocked but still decided to use her vehicle as a weapon to evade arrest. She made the decision(s) that forced him to make his. Could he have done anything differently, yes. But hindsight is our luxury from a safe place with no stress factors and zero risks to ourselves and those we are responsible for. That officer put himself in that position.
