Civil forfeiture enabled law enforcement to seize over a million dollars in legal business proceeds and threaten to keep it. Returning this money is the right thing to do, and we're pleased to have helped Empyreal secure this outcome.
Again, I just wish these same liberties were extended to average civilians out here. I don't see anything wrong with this other than it only serving the needs of cops.Off-duty cops in NJ can smoke weed without getting fired
Probably not a bad thing
The memo adds that a weed-tainted urine test isn’t cause for firing a cop.
“An employee shall not be subject to any adverse action by an employer solely due to the presence of cannabinoid metabolites in the employee’s bodily fluid,” it states.
Dumb and pointless. The first time an officer wrecks on duty or shoots someone and has THC in his system he will be fired and charged with crimes and the department will be sued for millions and loseOff-duty cops in NJ can smoke weed without getting fired

Did you actually watch the video? This was a car chase and once they stopped and the cops got out of the car they started shooting and didn't stop until they were out of ammo. I don't know what the guy did, but these two cops probably fired 100 rounds between the two of them. It must have been one hell of a speeding ticket.Guessing you have never been in a gun battle before? Try to hit someone moving at a sprint from 25-50 yards. They got him which is what matters
Meh, I guess if I really wanted to be a douche, I could probably say something about the driver reloading twice and spraying and praying a bit, while the guy that was in the passenger's seat was standing behind him at one point and firing shots with him potentially in the line of fire. But I would be reaching. I can't fault the guys too much (if at all) in this particular instance.Did you actually watch the video? If you need to empty a magazine 3 times either you suck at shooting at a target or you really, really want to kill someone.Meh, I guess if I really wanted to be a douche, I could probably say something about the driver reloading twice and spraying and praying a bit, while the guy that was in the passenger's seat was standing behind him at one point and firing shots with him potentially in the line of fire. Ive always enjoyed the “why didn’t they shoot him him in the leg” types. It’s as if they’ve watched too many episodes of The Lone Ranger or something. Most FB Karen’s get upset because they don’t understand “why did they shoot more than once” or “why couldn’t they taze him” or “shoot him in the leg?”
I noticed the guy getting behind the other officer too. Hopefully it will be turned into a training lesson for himMeh, I guess if I really wanted to be a douche, I could probably say something about the driver reloading twice and spraying and praying a bit, while the guy that was in the passenger's seat was standing behind him at one point and firing shots with him potentially in the line of fire. I see what you are saying. I guess I just realize that we have pizz poor cops out here and just have to live with the fact that they are poorly trained across the board. I've mentally lowered the bar and would give these guys a Mulligan on at least doing what I have been preaching which is going after real criminals. If you need to empty a magazine 3 times either you suck at shooting at a target or you really, really want to kill someone.
