It is impossible to follow a legend, even for her.
All the legendary coaches were not replaced successfully at their original schools. After Geno leaves UConn, that program will die out.
Tennessee has the legend and a strong conference (8 qualifying for NCAA) going for it
If Holly ends up being the bridge to a real coach, the real discussion has to be who? Don't just fire her without a plan.
None of Pat's assistants have won anywhere else enough to be on the radar. Even DeMoss flopped already at two major programs (and was the original coach at Florida).
It's a nice urban legend that Pat produced wonderful coaches, but not true on the national stage.
Would a good SEC coach jump? The only two worthwhile are at Missouri and Mississippi State with the State guy already old. Other veterans (Auburn and Alabama) have not produced and Auburn once had a coach in three straight Final Fours, so it can be done there.
The Duke coach is a possibility but she flatlined already.
