To root florida....that is the question

I would almost certainly root for Florida if it were just an ordinary BCS game. Not only because I usually try (though some times unsuccessfully) to be a conference man during bowl season, but because I'm thoroughly sick of having the whole Ohio State/Michigan thing rammed down my throat all year. If this were the Sugar Bowl, I'd root for FLA to win going away to make a statement about the SEC.

But I just can't root for them to win an actual championship. I think about the obnoxious guys in orange and blue jumpsuits doing shots and screaming in my local pub when they were here for the SECCG, and I just can't root for those guys to win the whole thing.

Maybe the best scenario for us is for Florida to lose in an ugly tight game... OSU gets exposed, SEC maintains the respect, but we don't have to watch the gators get another NC. A deal sweetner would be for chrissy to get rocked repeatedly.

I suppose this is the "best" scenario out of a bad lot. This is almost like when the Yankees played the Mets in the WS a few years ago.

how much more harm can be done? UT is closer to Ohio than it is to Florida in geographic terms so TOSU winning the title can also be seen as detrimental to UT recruiting.

Tennessee rarely loses anyone to Ohio St. They don't generally go after the same players.

Florida is in the conference with Tennessee.

It's a much bigger deal to lose recruits to Florida. Geography has nothing to do with it.

We need to Win big against Joe Pa, and let Urban's boys get taken to the woodshed by OSU...

We have to not only out recruit Florida, but the rest of the SEC as well.

I think we need to worry about winning our gmae more than florida losing theirs. Dont get me wrong, it would help if they lost but...If we our games, were still going to be able to recruit athletes.

A more practical reason, for those of you who hate the BCS.

If Florida wins a close, ugly game against OSU, and Michigan absolutely destroys USC, you could have that dreaded split NC, with the AP voters picking Michigan. This would only be another nail in the coffin.

No question about it. I'd like to see Florida lose 70-0.

I love the SEC and all, love watching an SEC game over anything else... but a part of me loves seeing SEC teams not based in Knoxville, Tennessee lose. Especially Florida.
