I want those of you that told me how overrated West Virginia was and how good the Big 10 and the Suckeyes from Ohio St. are, to tell me again. :)

How secure is Jim Tressel's job? Sure, he's beaten Michigan, but 0-2 to SEC teams in the National Title game has to have the big money boosters in Columbus grumbling.

a couple. I am not naming names, I think it was in that "Who is the most overrated" thread. There was a lot of talk about how the Big 10 was one of the top conferences, and some OSU love mixed in..

Sweatervest should be in the running for coach of the decade. Not sure how is seat could even be lukewarm.

1 NC (in the FBS)...

5 BCS bowl appearances...

Top dog in his conference year in and year out...

Completely owns his archrival...

I wish our coach had that resume.

Would he be top dog in a big 10 conference with 12 teams and a conference championship game?

with a little semantic tweaking, Fulmer's resume is similar.

The only similarity between Fulmer and Tressel is that each coaches division I football. Fulmer is to Tressel as Spam is to Filet Mignon.

considering the intent of the OP, there sure is a lot of love being heaped upon Tressel. Out of one side of the mouth, the Big 10 is a crappy conference filled with weak, slow teams and out of the other comes this fawning admiration of the best coach in that conference.

He lost back to back BCS title games by an average of over 20 points. Look out if he cuts it to under 20 one year.

We lost back-to-back Peach Bowl's by an average of 20 pts. Maybe next time we'll cut it a little closer.

No it doesn't. Why does everything have to be compared back to UT? Obviously, UT is sucking it up. Outdoing us right now is not the litmus test to greatness.

Of course Tressell is a really good coach. Fact is he has been embarassed the last 2 games in the BCS. Does he have some disadvantage I am unware of? You can't recruit to OSU, facilities suck? What? I know Fulmer is not where he is. But if we're going to go back to UT as we always do, then let's be honest. Fulmer would be lambasted on here as being a sucky coach if he got drilled the way Tressell had. Don't come back with Fulmer can't make to a BCS bowl, I already know this. Just describing how he would be regarded if in a similar situation.
