Fulmer would not be considered horrible if he made it to two straight title games.

There's a word for people who criticize a coch who's won a National Title and played for two others in a six year period: Idiots.

He has lost the last 2 Florida games by an average of 20 points... It wouldn't be any worse than that.

You're right. It would be about the same. My point is more with Tressel. People act as if he should be above criticism. He is not after the performances his teams have put forth.

I still can't believe they won in 2002... Tressel deserves a ton of credit for getting through that season unbeaten, even though they were really, really lucky.

Ah, you've resorted to this manuever as usual. I never knew "playing for them" is what counted in your book.

Why would it be the same? One is your rival who you haven't beaten in 3 years, and one is the national championship team. (who one year, happened to be Florida)

Fans don't like to lose. Losing repeatedly in any kind of scenario will create criticism.

Winning a National Title, playing for two others, and winning your conference four times in a six year period is above reproach. Ohio State lost the last two title games for a simple reason, the teams they played were better. If Tressel's open to criticism, I can't wait to hear what can be said about guys at power programs who haven't played for a title the last two years.

I didn't notice the part where they played for 2 others.

OSU has lost 3 times in the last 2 years. That doesn't deserve a whole lot of criticism.

sure it does. are the Buffalo Bills remembered for winning the AFC 4 years in a row, or are they remembered for losing 4 straight Super Bowls?

I want those of you that told me how overrated West Virginia was and how good the Big 10 and the Suckeyes from Ohio St. are, to tell me again. :)

OK.... I did think and say in a thread somewhere that tOSU would spank WVa. I was wrong... pardon me for making a bold prediction... WVa just looked so friggin bad against Pitt. :)

Am I the only one here that is owning up to it? Maybe I missed one?

Even if the Buckeyes went undefeated in the regular season next year and suffered another double-digit loss in the NC game, Tressel's seat would still be one of the coolest in the country. OSU put up w/ John Cooper for 12 yrs, and Tressel has done 10x as much for their football program as Cooper did.

As long as Tressel beats Michigan, he probably doesn't need to go to the other games.

No, there are more, but I don't expect them to show up. And by god, this thread took an unexpected turn. Lastly, I would take Tressel in a hot minute over Fulmer. A team full of SEC caliber talent would be absolutely frightening with him at the helm.

I was one that was against WVA, and I still am, I'm sticking to it. Yeah they played a great game against Okla, but thats it. They ruined their national championship chances by losing to a crappy team, that doesn't speak well, and I give them props for bouncing back, but I still see many teams who could beat them.
