slapnut posse - n. (SLAP nut pos see) A group formed out of the eternal wisdom of mikey to group together all of the jackasses who hate on Randy.

Two questions to the posse and this is all I'm saying about this this week (unless I say more):

DID THEY WIN?
CAN YOU NAME ME 5 PROGRAMS THAT HAVE BEEN MORE CONSISTENT THAN THIS ONE OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS?

This is now my stock answer to the posse.

I'll bet some people could come up with more consistent offenses in the last 6.5 years.

Not me!! :p

Seriously, I am not going to get on here and "hate on" the guy every week. But I don't think he deserves to be put up on a pedestal either.

I've never once said anything about putting him on a pedestal. Is he the best O coordinator in the country? No. Does he do a good job? Yes. Does he deserve do be strung from a tree and beaten like Sarge would like to do? No. Just keep in mind that your average fan out there would have said two or three weeks ago that Urban Meyer was one of the best in the busines...now look at them. It just goes to show that what Bear Bryant said was true: " It's all about the players. If my X's are bigger stronger and faster than your O's and my X's out execute your O's...I'm gonna win." (I'm pretty sure...not positive, mind you...but pretty sure that Coach Bryant knew more about the game than Sarge.

I'm in the same boat. I think what some people fail to grasp though is that CPF is still the de facto Offensive Coordinator. We run the same system that we ran back when CPF was the OC and CPF trusts Randy Sanders implicitly because they think the same way. I really don't think it would matter much who the OC was, the offense would look very similar.

I think he does an ok job. I realize that I think he is probably limited in what Fulmer allows him to do so you have to factor that in. Again, I don't want to sound like I want him fired but I will tell you that I think our offensive production is less than our offensive talent.

"Strung from a tree and beaten", probably not. We will save that for a rainy day.

The problem with the X and O mentality is part of the problem I have with our offense at times. We feel like we can line up and run over people like we used to (I wish we could). We have better talent and should be able to line up and out execute our opponents.

**woops. I think I accidentally edited your post when I meant to reply to it. Sorry bout that-- vol_freak

here was your original post in response to GA
-----------------------------------------------------
OH DEAR GOD!!! Tremendously said my dear Georgian...I've only said that same thing on here about a bazillion times. I've never been on the sidelines with them, but knowing the two of them and having been in the same situation where my head coach was the former OC and I was the current OC, I can assure you that they are on the exact same page most of the time and I would bet Phillip calls several plays throughout the game. It's called working together. Too many people on here seem to think that this is all Randy and Phillip doesn't even know what the offense looks like. THIS IS NOT RANDY'S OFFENSE YOU ARE LOOKING AT...IT IS UT'S OFFENSE.

I will give you my defacto answer...

Yes, they won putting up less points on Ole Miss than Vandy and yes I can name you 5 programs that have been more consistent on offense the last 6.5 years.

I don't understand what our record over the last 15 years has to do with Sanders?

I will agree with that and that's one of the reasons I think Saners gets a raw deal.

First it should be...FEWER points on Ole Miss... :birgits_giggle: Secondly...the world doesn't revolve around offense (and this from an OC)...it revolves around the OVERALL success of the program. Phillip wins and if he didn't think that Randy was doing the job he wouldn't let him keep it.This is, for the most part, a top ten team year in and year out. Programs whose OC sucks are not top ten year in and year out. The program would suck, howeverf,if people with Sarge's sense of the game were in charge.

Man another grammer correcter?

I know what you are saying Mikey but I don't think it's fair that Randy can rest on or hide behind the success of the program. I agree, Phil is happy with him and that's that. However, he has not done anything spectacular since he has been here (although i think he did a good job last year). He is a Tennessee boy that was brought in to run Fulmer's offense. We all know that Fulmer would never hire a high profile guy to come in here and steal his thunder.

If you want to talk about the success of the program as a test of Sanders, then you still can't go back 15 years. Sanders has not won an SEC Title and lost two Peach Bowls in his tenure.

Again, I am only pointing out these things since you brought it up. For the record I do not think Sanders needs to be fired on the spot because I do think, like you said, he is just running Fulmer's "Tennessee offense".
