Who's going to play QB next year? I have faith in the coaching that the O-line will be better, the WR's and RB's will be better, the already much improved defense will be incredible, but what about the QB position?

Peterman?
Dobbs?
Wzeyhakkdhak? (Sp?)
True freshman?
JUCO?

There's a real concern going into 2015 at that ONE position, which happens to be the most important.

Peterman and Dobbs will be in their third year of the Butch Jones offense. One will step forward and lead this team. Both are talented and willing to be coached.

Look at it this way op, look at Worley last year vs this year. I imagine someone with enough drive as him to improve that much will make an impact on the field next year.

I hope you guys are right, and Pete or Dobbs can be developed. Dobbs had a great Spring game, but other than that we haven't seen much to be excited about.

Peterman, well, we've seen him for one half of a game that I try very hard to forget about.

Agree with the second and third posts. Peterman or Dobbs will lead the team and do well. They will be even better next year. I am not as worried about QB as some are here.

I would love a super star at the QB position, but I'd take a game manager and be perfectly content. As long as our defense stays healthy and plays the way they did last night, this team will have an opportunity to win just about any game on our schedule. We need 6 wins. If recruiting is a must, which it is, at some point 6 wins has to transition on the field.

That is Butch Jones' problem to solve as coach of Tennessee. They must be substantially better in 2015, competing for the East. It's not optional.

It just seems like UGA, Bama, Auburn, USCe, etc etc have had good QB's, one after the next, and yet we've had a hard time finding ONE. Bums me out watching these other teams play and making simple pass and catch plays, while the Vols are snake bit and go 3 and out every series.

Texas A&M does not seem to be having a problem with a young QB. In fact who cares right now this is 2014.

We won't have that problem once we get back. Just wait and see. We've been down and unstable. uga, bama, and usce have been stable and good. Just wait.

Fair question and one that nobody really knows for sure. If Peterman truly pushed for the starting job in camp like the coaches say, then maybe he is ready to step in with another year under his belt. A lot of people, including myself, doubted Worley's ability to lead our team this year, but I think he's doing a good job considering the offensive line. I'm not giving up on Dobbs just yet because I believe he has the drive to get there and showed improvement back in the Spring game. Dormady may just be the big time QB we need but it's always tough to ask a true freshman to take the reigns and lead when he steps foot on campus. Maybe if he is an EE then it will speed up the learning curve, but he would still have his fair share of growing pains throughout the season. The one big thing going in our favor next year is that whoever takes over will have a full arsenal of offensive weapons at his disposal, and that alone should help his transition be a little smoother. In conclusion, I'm going to guess Peterman, and if our offensive line doesn't improve leaps and bounds quickly, we may be seeing Peterman running our offense this year due to the beating Worley is taking.

One loss and were already complaining about next year? Nothing like being a Vol fan.

I'm not worried about peterman being our guy next year. It'll be his 3rd year with Butch, and I'm very confident in his ability to develop.

not that I don't think we will be ok with NP/JD.....but I wouldn't count out the freshmen?

I'm with you there. I think Dormady has the potential to be our next great QB. I think we got a steal considering he sticks with his commitment which I think he will. If it wasn't for his injury last season I think he would have been right towards the top of QB prospects on the recruiting services, and I believe he is starting to climb those rankings now. I have no idea, but I hope he is an EE so he can go through spring practice and get in our strength and conditioning program a little earlier.

Dobbs has a higher ceiling than Peterman. I think he will win the job next year.

Yep, similar to how UT fans have always opined we need to play FL later, without asking why is FL always prepared to play early but we're not? Coaching, mostly.

Next year Butch will have at least two JRs and two SOs of his own. He'll have no excuses at the QB position. Apparently, CBJ is even less sure of Dobbs than Peterman. While they may both pan out as world-beaters, we've seen little to encourage the supposition.
