If Young plays he will be far below par and i think he'll be replaced by Mildew and Tennessee will barely be able to hold off Alabama coming away with a 37-35 win.

Woody: Thread title: To Win We Must Punish Young.
Listen here, jacksnapper, Byron Young is one of ours. We ain't beating up on him, why the audacity of you to propose that!

Reelfoot: Bryce, not Byron, you nitwit, I'm talking about B R Y C E, Bryce!

Woody: Isn't a Bryce an out of date 32 bit 3D program sold by DAZ? Bamas don't even know how to use a computer, let alone the software.

Reelfoot: Dammit! Bryce Young, the Alabama quarterback. Hit him hard and often, punish him!

Woody: Oh, that Bryce. No, don't punish him, His arm needs surgery. Perform a reverse arm exchange surgery so he throws the ball backwards each time he passes. Then bill Saban for medical services and surgical fees.

The Refs will pull the new Brady rule you hug the QB till the whistle blows and if you throw him or lay him on the ground will result in roughing the passer ergo 15 yard penalty.

This needs to go to he same way it went for Pitt QB's. Young must go down hard and he must go down early & often. If we do that I like our chances

It would be coaching malpractice for Saban to play Young this week. Not only would he be potentially jeopardizing the kid's career, but his team's season as well. The truth is that Alabama doesn't need this game to get to Atlanta, and having Young healthy then should be the priority.

I might be wrong, but to me this looks like a classic Saban smokescreen to make UT prepare for two entirely different game plans. My guess is that they will go heavy and try to control the LOS and win with their run game, limiting UT's possessions and keeping the score down. Getting off the field on 3rd down will be the key to our chances.
You are probably correct but it would not be the first time Saban played an injured player that should have sat.

A childish poster who doesn't know how to play, and jumps on any chance to belittle. OK, got it. I'll leave this here long enough for you to respond, and then..., and then..., and then... be done with it.

If BY's family and 'advisors' aren't somehow involved in this decision they are guilty of the same kind of malpractice if the kid is hurt further. I might be wrong, but I don't believe he was ever going to play this week. I have a feeling that Saban has a game plan involving going big and pounding the ball, trying to shorten the game and reduce the chances of mistakes by Milroe. We'll see.

I agree that we gotta get after him hard and make him wish he was on the bench. However, I really don’t want the guy hurt. He’s got a future ahead of him and a nagging, persistent injury like that could really mess up what he’s worked for for most of his life.

We have to expect the officials have been “ briefed” ( read: threatened) thoroughly on their responsibility to ensure that Bryce is protected from ANYTHING that might be even vaguely construed as “ roughing” a QB.
Added: I hope they apply the same standard to Hendon.

Clean, hardnosed football Please. The officials in today’s game will be locked and loaded, ready to toss anyone on our defense out of the game for any hit on Bryce that might vaguely look like “ roughing “.

I have no problem with the refs being reminded to protect the QBs. As a matter of fact considering the situation and it is Bama, The refs should be reminded. They should be told to call it exactly as the rule book says to and properly protect the QBs.

Apparently last years refs had not ever read that section of the rule book if you remember the illegal targeting against the Hooker that wasn’t called. Maybe this year they will get the penalty Bama deserved last year.

If Young plays QB for Bama, we must hit him hard and often as soon as the game starts. I am 75 years old........have had AC problems in a shoulder for years. Ultimately having a total shoulder replacement. Throwing a football with any velocity (and accurate) will take its toll on you during an entire game. Again, If he is QB, we have got to punish him for his efforts in order to win.
I agree. And unfortunately that’s their game plan on Hooker too. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a bounty out for knocking him out of the game. And for the love of Pete, Hooker learn to slide. Milton be ready

Completely and totally agree. Young playing and getting further injuried would not only torpedo Bama’s season but also tarnish Saban’s image.

Roughing the passer or not it only takes one hit if a kid is already hurt. Young will get hit if he plays it’s just a part of football.

Hooker might actually win us this game with his balanced toughness. He has learned how, and when, to run. Bammers back up QB is a hulk, but we can get to him. These are professional athletes now. They are getting paid to get to get to the QB. We have good lines.
