Tobias Harris vs Terrence Jones

I have to admit, something Jones has that Harris doesn't is the wow factor. Even when Jones goes 3-13 from the field, he still made my jaw drop on at least 2 occasions.

From watching the games, it appears that both are of similar size and skills. Jones is asked to do more for his team, having to carry UK for stretches; as a result, Harris seems to be more team oriented. I believe either could do the job asked of them-carry the team or play team basketball. At this point I would put neither above the other. I do love the way Harris plays within himself and does not seem to press. Jones, at least at NC, tended to do otherwise. I believe UT and UK consider themselves lucky to have their respective players. I really don't see anything Jones would add to the UT team that Harris does not already provide.

I'm not sure if you're giving Jones enough credit. I like the enthusiasm though.

Maybe I did not say it correctly. I'd love to have Jones on the UT team. But I'm not sure Jones makes UT any better, if Harris had to be traded for him. Again, I like the team work I've seen from Harris. Maybe Jones could be that team type player if he played under Bruce instead of Calipari. But he has not displayed it as much at UK.

Harris is a better shooter, and has more touch. He also is a better passer.

Jones is a better post up player, and is stronger. He also is a better ball-handler.

I think the slight edge rebounding goes to Jones.

I think the slight edge defensively goes to Tobias.

Jones has more athleticism

Tobias has a more refined game

Really, I'll take either and be happy.

Not sure how you are justifying saying that he is not a team player. He hustles and kills himself to get boards, and the team purposefully runs the offense through him as the #1 option. He is not selfish, hoarding the ball and jacking up horrible shots. Cals X/O skills are lacking, but you can't honestly say that he can't get guys to play team ball, after watching what he has done over the years with multiple large egos to deal with.

I'm just saying what I am seeing. I see Tobias passing more often and effectively, and Jones being more effective one on one to the basket. The 3 for 17 shooting in the NC game doesn't scream to me "team player". I understand that Jones is more the number one option than Harris, and as I said earlier, Jones may be more of a team player if he played for UT, I don't now. What I can say is that at times, I wish Harris would be more selfish in his play and shoulder more of a load (which I believe he will), and I've not seen so far a shot that Jones does not like-I thought he really pressed under the pressure from NC. Both players are really good players with much of the same type game. I, as a UT fan, am satisfied that we have Harris, and I'm sure as a UK fan, you're glad you have Jones.
