1973 refs and no 3 point line and I would take that bet.. lol Bunch of candy arses today..

People are so much stronger and more skilled now. Top to bottom, 70s teams are clearly inferior in talent and strength. I get that you don't like modern NBA ball, but it's hard to imagine most 2013 not rolling over most 70s teams.

First, I was born in the mid 70's and other than a few highlights, dont recall much about the NBA.

I hear ya though. And dont disagree with those 70's teams being inferior in talent and strength. But from what I saw of those guys they had a will to win like players today only talk about in interviews. I dont think their is a real will to win anymore.(exp. Tracy McGrady) And I dont know if the amount of money is the reason, but I sure believe it is. I also believe some of the 'talent' in the NBA now wouldnt be phsyically able to play in the NBA back then.(and not to knock on our boy but J Mcrae would fall into this category IMO). thoughts?

I can agree with that. And I'm not knocking on the old teams, just saying if every 73 team played every 2013 team once, I would guess the 2013 teams would win about 67% of those games.

Obviously there is plenty of talent from older teams that is better than new, but just not as much.

Definitely agree on the last point you made. Lots of superstars in today's game if the "Jordan Rules" were still employed.

This is why I've always said Kobe's 80 is more impressive than Wilt's 100.

I'd rather see a series from each team for this, why? Because one thing they do better now is conditioning. Comparing long term stamina now to then isn't even fair. Just look at the differences in the 98 shortened season that the spurs won to the shortened season last year, that was only 15 years and it was like night and day. I couldn't imagine what a fully healthy 2013 Heat/Thunder/Spurs/Boston/Knicks/Bulls/Nuggets team would do to a 70's team in a seven game series. Hell, even teams like Minnesota or Golden State when healthy could probably hold their own.

@NBA: NBA fans should start learning the name Tobias Harris. Harris has 17 pts & 5 rbs in the 1st half as @Orlando_Magic leads @WashWizards 58-46.

29 pts 11 rebs. 11-21 Fg's, 2-3 from 3, 5-5 from the line. 3 steals, 3 blocks, only 1 turnover in 45 mins. Great all around game for Tobias

Most 2013 NBA teams would destroy most 1973 teams.

That's not how you compare competition between generations...true the 2013 teams are bigger stronger and faster but some say the teams from the 70's had more overall basketball skills .....no fascination with 3 pt shooting and dunking. There is no definite way to prove it either way.

The way you compare team is against their actual competition at the time and the 70's competition was much stronger. Not bc they were more talented players but bc their was much less teams making much better competition. They had talent all over the court in the seventies and eighties.....now u take a couple stars with a bunch of role players and u can be nba champions.

Ya'll need to quit!!! Heat was playing with the Magic all night treating them like little high school kids even without D-Wade playing!!!! Tobias is a nice player but not even in the same league as Lebron or D-Wade.

Heat wins again of course =27 in a row!!! Let's go Heat!!!!

Quit hatin!!

Bandwagon fan, IMO

Looks like Tobias is coming into his own. Trade to Magic was the best thing that could have happened to him. Great guy and a VFL
