Today Is The Start Of Bowl Season

Miami has been shut out twice in Bowl Games: 24-0 in the 1935 Orange Bowl by Bucknell and 29-0 by Arizona in the 1993 Fiesta Bowl.

That was back when Arizona had Teddy Bruschi. They were pretty nasty on defense.

I have always thought of the Independence Bowl as the worst bowl of them all... at least among the bowls that have been around for at least 40 years. It's location (Shreveport, LA), it's venue, when it's played... their sponsor is always someone obscure. Everything about it sucks.

On the flip side, The Holiday Bowl is underrated.

The Holiday Bowl and Alamo Bowl are both usually 2 of the better "lesser" bowls each year, mostly because some good teams usually fall down to them. They've both had some pretty good games and good matchups.

Also, honestly the only Independence Bowl I can remember (and can't even remember the year) was the year Miss St. played and it snowed. And the snow was the only reason I remember it and that Miss St. wore stormtropper uniforms and they blended into the field.
