This is why AD's need to always have a 'book' on who would be interested in their head coach position if a change is needed. No excuse for being unprepared (e.g. Mike Hamilton).

I got money that he wasn't in their book, but made his agent make a phone call.

Don't blame Graham for moving (and didn't blame Kiffin either). Pitt's AD however should also have been contacting people through the back door regarding future openings the minute the ASU position became open. My impression was that Mike Hamilton was totally unprepared even as USC was going down its list of candidates.

Graham pulls a Kiffin.

Graham: Hey Kiffin, how do you tell them your gone in less than a year?

Kiffin: Text them and say "I'm otta here"

Graham: Good call! I think I'll do that.

Kiffin is and was a habitual liar. Dealing with people like that make it a lot harder to be prepared.

Don't disagree but if I were Hamilton, I wouldn't even bother asking Kiffin if he were interested. I would have assumed that ANY high pub job (USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida) would have interested him. Need to have a contingency plan in place (approval to spend a huge amount, names of potential interested candidates, etc.)

He leaves a job after one year to take on essentially an equivalent job in a different conference. Does Pittsburgh suck that badly? Is this really a better hire than someone like Wilcox? I'm lost.

I would much, much, much, much rather live in AZ than Pittsburgh, PA. x10000000.

Regardless, you take a contract away from June Jones and give it to Todd Graham?

Jones and Graham are both B- hires. Wilcox wouldn't have been a D when looking at his resume compared to those 2.

June Jones has at least made a BCS bowl. Graham's most notable accomplishment at Pitt was putting up a high-octane total of 50 yards passing against Utah this year.

Also, the Pitt players are letting him have it on Twitter. Twitter

Matt Zemek of CFN: "It's really rather simple: The ASU in Jonesboro is a far more competently run athletic program than the ASU in Tempe."

I have no idea how a Sun Belt school gets Gus Malzahn and a preseason Top 25 school selects a guy who couldn't hack it at Pitt.
