I tuned into those idiots at the end of the show. They finally brought it up as they were going off the air. Heather Haveanotherington said at least nobody got hurt and that she respects him publicly apologizing and taking responsibility.

What a complete piece of human garbage.

She should've done the same thing

Hiw many of us on this board can say that they have never driven under the infl.? I havent in 25 years , but the same thing could have happened to me. Todd is a good person and I say let it go. He will not make a similar mistake. I have known the kid since he was 12 years old- always polite, well-behaved. Let it go.

Getting a DUI doesnt make you a bad person, it means you made a bad decision. You can cast stones if youve never driven after having too much to drink.

Good people do stupid dumbass things. It's something that's gonna happen if you keep doin' stupid sh*t. You're only going to dodge the bullet for so long.

And it's not a "mistake"; every damn time you get behind the wheel, you know perfectly well that you shouldn't. Stop acting surprised and remorseful about this. Don't BS all us BS-er's; you know what you're doing/ hoping/ chancing. You crossed your fingers, thought about everyone else, every other time you got away with this, and you headed toward your car. You had options: there were people around you, and cabs, and all the rest, and you blew them off.

Maybe you slowed down a moment, thinking about the shame and embarrassment and job consequences and all the rest that might happen. And hey, that's something. But can we get way more serious here? Pull up your socks, take a deep breath, and focus: what if you kill someone?

People, be smart, if you're going to use chemicals to get happy, do it at home, and have enough on hand that you don't suddenly decide to jump in the car and get some more. This is why we have refrigerators and what-not.

If you're going to alter your consciousness, do it in the comfort of your own home, and don't subject your fellow citizens to the consequences of your deciding to go on a beer run.

Why anyone, especially older and supposedly more mature, takes chances of messing up their future, their family name their children have to deal with, especially his excuse, he could hire a private driver to take him anywhere anytime.Disappointing he so selfish, irresponsible and weak.
Lighten up Francis, he ain't answering to you.

Jesus, is that you? Thanks for the advice from the only perfect man to walk the planet.

Go back and read again. This is by no means from someone claiming perfection.

I'm saying that when we decide (and it's deciding, it's not some sudden decision from above) to kick back and get happy, we need to make our beer runs up front and load up with whatever we want to have on hand, and then move out onto the front porch and enjoy.

We all like to pretend that when we do stupid things, they're completely unexpected and come out of left field. But in reality, we do know from experience and/or from what we hear from friends what we're probably going to do when we decide to get stupid.

So lighten up yourself, Francis, and acknowledge what we upfront chose to do to our brains when we decide to put our feet up on the rails and get happy, and let's all figure out a way to maybe injure our livers, but not injure out neighbors.

I haven't. I've never gotten behind the wheel after even one drink. Too much to lose.

Never drink and drive...you might hit a bump and spill your drink!

Thanks for merging. I posted this thread under the one about the Bama player using food stamps.

If you shoot a gun at someone and miss is it okay?

That's what DUI is.

Lose a loved one to a drunk driver, then we'll see if you laugh it off as no big deal.

I got one a few years back and still regret it. I didn't hurt anyone or anything thankfully... and people need to understand DUi is under the influence of ANY DRUG including common prescriptions, decongestants, etc that can alter your ability.

It's amazing TH didnt hurt someone or himself ....

denverpost.com : Details emerge in DUI case involving Rockies star Todd Helton

"Igloo cups" smh, I'm hearing there's more to the story, like maybe he got called in from another patron at a place but see no proof yet. He should know better to make a call to leave safely. Unfortunately for him and many athletes, they think they are ALWAYS going to get out (or away with) it...because they ALWAYS have with preferential treatment. I wonder how many times he has done this?

People really chug beer out here. We are ground zero for microbreweries and craft beers. Once you get out of Denver, you have to drive everywhere. But I'm not making excuses for him.
