Todd Raleigh is soon going to be history

Raleigh was a very poor hire by MH. It is hard to understand how/why MH thought a coach at WCU could cut it at a major school.

If he had actually been GOOD at Western Carolina, it might have been a justifiable decision. But he wasn't very good even there.

Kellie Jolly Harper was good in women's basketball there while Raleigh was wallowing in mediocrity with the baseball team. She is now doing well at NC State.

Baseball is less affected, in terms of coaching ability, by the size of the school or division. It is more of a chess match so to speak. Just my opinion. I coached Junior LL for 3 years and went 35-13 with inferior teams on paper all 3 years.

I'm sure Lipscomb, Trevecca, and Belmont can prove coaches from small schools can coach against the big boys. Heck look at all those little schools we've lost to so far.

This is what I don't get....I'm fine with getting someone from a mid-major or smaller school, as long as they were doing great there and it was obvious they were on there way up. I don't see how anyone could have thought that about Raliegh.

In fact wasn't his only claim to fame almost beating UNC or someone like that in the regionals? I remember it was something like a Charlie Weis thing (rewarded for almost beating USC).
