You really think he "tried hard"? He never attended a Friday night high school football game the 3 years he was here and never visited or communicated with over 1/2 of the High School coaches in East Tenn. That's a great way to " try hard" and not recruit. The only thing he " tried hard" to do was collect his $10 million check and set us back 3 years.
This.
As bad as what Kiffin did to us was, he actually did his job while here. Dooley, on the other hand, could not be bothered by trivial things like actually going to a recruits game.

Yep. Dooley gave up. That can not be
forgiven. How do you get paid millions and give up.

He also asked out of his contract after getting humiliated by Kentucky. The
chump gave up. PERIOD!

Don't understand the hate for the guy.

You people act like he purposefully shat on Tennessee football (like his predecessor)

He represented UT well and tried hard. And to read the comments on here, one would think you guys would spit on him if you had the chance.

Whatever, for a fan base that cries about how pitiful the past decade has been, some of us sure do like to live in it every day it seems.

Maybe it had something to do with turning away all sorts of talent in the state of Tennessee, turning away former players that have their all for Tennessee, and being a piss poor leader. Dooley never owned up to his mistakes as a head coach, he simply tossed blame among the players, and shot the team down every chance he could get. I cringe every time I hear the word Dooley and Tennessee mentioned in the same breath. He single handedly set our rebuild back even further than we originally were. However, I won't put all of the blame on him for the decline of Tennessee football, it's Mike Hamilton's fault for hiring him in the first place.

Should have let him go when he asked considering how he handled the following season. Anytime anyone here cries and gnashes their teeth about our jacked up secondary, remember to thank Dooley again for doing such a fine job recruiting Ramsey and Bell last year.

Ok, so the man gets an opportunity of a lifetime and his goal is to get fired after 3 years? Are you completely ignorant? Dooley didn't get it done. He almost turned the corner last year, but he signed his own pink slip when he hired Sunseri. Think before you spew ignorance all over this board . Posts like this just scream look at me I'm an idiot.

We shouldn't be celebrating this until November 26th. But we should be celebrating the 2nd anniversary of it. Not the 1st.

Too bad he got the extra year to put us further behind.

Hopefully Dooley's kids had to go through crap in school too.

And I hope his family was happy here and they had to move away from all the friends they've made over the 3 years.

It would be awesome if they miss their home where they were building a life together.

Stupid, immature thread is stupid and immature.

Jeez Louise, y'all please don't anger the football gods and get bad karma on us; our game this weekend is only a 3 pt spread at this time. And yes, Vince Dooley might have a private number to the football gods.
