Tonight's Final Four

UConn reign is over. Other schools are getting better and also getting comparable talent. It must be nice to play in division where there's no competition.
That conference schedule they have to play is a JOKE!! It is not really fair that other teams are playing in conferences that beat each other's brains in. All their games are like preseason scrimmages.

At least he gets to pad his overall record so he can eventually pass Pat's record.

I don't wish him poor health or tragedy, but I wouldn't mind if a recruiting scandal ended his career prematurely.

And I notice people in the sports world never call Geno on that weak conference they play in as well. He just gets a pass. He will never ever be Pat Summit. Not in his wildest dreams PERIOD.

The NCAA committee called them out and said that’s why they were a #2 seed... They tried to get in the ACC but UConn didn’t fit the profile academically at the time. Also I think the other schools fit better more so football wise which was a determining factor.

If I had my way I'd treat them like they were in the SWAC....No pun intended.

LOL! You do realiize that Auriemma has no control over which athletic conference the University of Connecticut chooses to be a member of, right? How stupid would anyone in “the sports world” look to call Geno out on their conference schedule as if it’s his choice?!

Truth is, it’s amazing that they continue to get to the Final Four every year DESPITE the obvious disadvantage their conference puts them in.

I’d have given just about anything for Tennessee to have been in this year’s Final Four.

I was rooting for ND and Baylor. That might be our new coach sitting right on that ND bench. I used to not be a huge KM fan but I remember her great comments when Pat announced her illness. She basically said if the UT AD didn’t treat Pat right she was going to come to Knoxville and grab him with her left hand and beat him with her right. You gotta love loyal friends.
I think Baylor is the better team but if Ivey is our new coach arriving with a Natty would be a plus.

Exactly! The quality of his wins don’t amount to Pats. The SEC has been a stronghold in women’s college ball.

Sorry for wanting to steal your coach. LOL.
Understandable. Kim might enjoy the challenge of returning Tennessee to it's past glory but there are reasons for her to stay also.

*Sonja Hogg brought Kim to Waco and is still employed by Baylor. Hogg is in Tampa this weekend for the FF.

*Kim already has a Brinks truck.

Women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey was reported with more than $2.1 million in total pay, with nearly $1.85 million as base pay. Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma's basic pay for the 2015-16 season was $2.17 million.Apr 29, 2016.

Baylor would probably meet (or beat) any offer she receives.

*This Freshman Class is gonna be special!

*Would Fulmer allow Kim to hire her daughter, Makenzie. Is there room in the UT AD for her son-in-law, Clay. Clay was one of the many good guys that played for Art Briles.

*Associate HC Bill Brock would probably retire. He has a son-in-law that coaches for Scott Drew's Men's team so there would be a wife, daughter and grandchild to think about.

That conference will be their downfall after Geno retires. Just like what has happened to their men's program in the last five years, they will start to recruit like the mid-major school that they really are.

How many teams outside those in the “power conferences” have ever reached the Final Four since 1982? Probably not that many.

My point is not that Connecticut is disadvantaged due to not getting great players — they have consistently gotten the majority of the very TOP players for many years — but the semi-recent switch to a conference with significantly lesser competition IS an obvious disadvantage for them in the weeks running up to the tournament.

UConn had three number one rated players on the floor last night and the other three were top five in their class. What they lack is a big post player and they got stomped on the boards. The days when they were winning every year they had the big post players along with all the highly rated guards and forward. They no longer have the post players and this makes this a team that can lose to any team that has a strong inside game.
