Actually, allow me to remind you that this is not the Tennessee football forum, it's the Around the NCAA section here. Preference will not be given to Vol fans or anybody else.

#1, u can say 26 until you're blue in the face, it'll get under my skin about as much as finding $20 in my coat pocket this winter

#2, i wasn't making any inflammatory remarks about anything. just noted that a guy that cheers for a team whose fanbase gets a boner over a rock being painted was making fun of people throwing toilet paper in trees - both seem equally as redneck

#3, the people saying we'd just replace the rock, like it's no big deal, would be the same ones that would be loading up the shotgun and heading up/down 75 if they thought that a rival had defaced the precious stone

but i do hope ya'll had a wonderful 4th.....and Go Big Blue!

FWIW, rivals have painted the rock thousands of times, and if it exists for the same amount of years, I bet it'll get painted a few more times, too.

i did feel pretty bad for aubie fans about those trees when it first happened. But after reading that interview with updyke, I think he had made some good points and no longer give a sh!! about those trees. They still have that bird and cat to celebrate.

Spent 4 years on campus. Can't remember going by the rock much to pay my respects. Usually had a bunch of frat stuff on it.

While what Updyke did was totally out of line, I have a hard time feeling sorry for a couple of trees on a college campus. Especially trees that Auburn would just pay to replace anyway.
