Toomer's Corner Poisoned

The university learned that a caller to The Paul Finebaum Show, a nationally syndicated radio show based in Birmingham, on Jan. 27, claimed he had applied the herbicide. As a precaution, soil samples were taken the next day and sent to the Alabama State Pesticide Residue Laboratory on campus for analysis. Due to a small fire that occurred in the Alabama lab in December, the tests were sent to the lab at Mississippi State University in Starkville, Miss., to expedite results.

how did PF react? Did he just hang up on him like normal?

I wasn't listening. Caught the story later.

This is hilarious:

"We will take every step we can to save the Toomer's oaks, which have been the home of countless celebrations and a symbol of the Auburn spirit for generations of Auburn students, fans, alumni and the community," said University President Jay Gogue.

Truer words have never been spoken. When I think of Auburn, I think of wiping my butt.

Wondering how many times those symbols of school spirit have been pissed on over the years?

This is dumb.. I hope they catch this idiot..

It's one thing to hate another fanbase, But to ruin something that has been part of their tradition for 130 years..

Some are laughing, but how would you feel if someone burnt down neyland or trashed our campus?

I have to believe the removal of the oaks from Toomer's Corner may well serve as a metaphor for what's about to happen to AU.

In all honesty, this dude should be found and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

I'm laughing, but I do feel a little bad about myself for doing so.

Their alumni and coaching staff have pretty much sullied their tradition already. I kind of feel bad but then again it could be what I had for lunch.

Man that's messed up!! Talking about destroying ones traditions. Now there is one side of me that would love to burn down Ben Hill Griffin stadium or hook up coach bryants statue to a 4 wheel drive and pull it down and drag it down Bryant drive. But doing something like that is a little over the top IMO.

Yeah this crosses the line. Hate the rival, but respect the tradition.

I remember a couple LSU students tried taking a piss on the bronze gator statue outside The Swamp's north end zone. They took a good beating from several UF fans before campus police showed up.

Haha - wow - the guy who did it called and bragged about it on the Paul Finebaum show a few weeks early - that's why they tested the soil...

What would happen to a rival fan in Knoxville if they got caught painting that big rock on campus?

Going too far with the action, but I can't help but find myself chuckling at the pitcure of some white trash bama fan bragging to all his buddies about what he did.
