Top 10 F DeAndre Daniels

pardon my ignorance, but he is a 2011 prospect.

You're ignorance pardoned, he is actually considering re-classifying to the 2010 class (which has the ability to do) and playing this upcoming season. He is visiting UCLA and USC this weekend, and UK (and many others) are in pursuit.

All indications are that he will contemplate this week/weekend and decide quickly so that he can enroll quickly in the school he chooses. (assuming he re-classifies)

If he wants to play with us in 2010, we could pull a scholly from one of the guys who was a walk-on last year. I guess that would be kinda harsh now that school is starting. But, playing on this team is a privilege.

I didn't realize Daniels attended the same high school as Renaldo Woolridge, so it's nice Pearl already has connections to his school, which is one of the best basketball schools on the west coast.

I thought Renaldo went to Harvard-Westlake. Doesn't Daniels go to W.H. Taft?

They both played for Belmont Shore, which is a youth basketball club in Long Beach, CA. I don't know if they ever actually played together on the same team.

Man, I was mistaken big time, my bad. DeAndre is from Woodland Hills, thought Renaldo was from there as well. There are no connections here.

Well, the possibility of a post-season ban and probation certainly isn't going to encourage top recruits to come here.

Am I in the minority for not seeing a post-season ban as realistic? I see probation in our future, but no bans. At worse 1 scholly a year for 2-3 years... at worst

As far as the "team sanctions" are concerned anyway. Bruce may get something else, but I don't see the team suffering any more than what I previously stated.

It's tough. I don't know if Pearl will survive as head coach at UT. He must continue selling the program to all nationally ranked recruits.

We all know that he is an excellent salesman. We all also know that to be a really good salesman requires being unethical and lying as necessary.

I think hamilton should hire a few watch guards to keep a look out on Pearl. Pearl gets a little overboard (ie excessive phone calls) when trying to get recruits to come to UT.

I love Pearl's enthusiasm but someone should try to keep him in check.

When you're in a business, you face eithical challenges all day long. Pearl has made decisions in the past that crossed the ethical boundary to help his business succeed. It's almost too easy to predict that he will do it again.

There aren't many people who haven't played in the grey area in sales and been uber successful. It is a matter of knowing the rules and how to circumvent them ie: Coach Cal
