I know Tennessee doesn't have a lot of instate talent, but only 1 player in the rivals top 10 in Tennessee has committed to UT so far. The first 4, are 4 star prospects and only 1 is committed to UT. Two of those are offensive linemen. If you count the top 11, then there are 2 players committed.

Hopefully we'll add the number 1 prospect this year.

And you know this won't be the same next year.

Think Kiffin was surprised by that? I think that's why he said we have to build a border around the state almost first thing. He probably couldn't believe UT wasn't doing a better job with instate talent.

Imagine if there was a 4* QB from the state of TN. It would seem like a perfect match.

Now, click the 2007 drop down in the link above.

There will be one next year, Burnetti. Not sure if he will be a fit for Kiffin or not. I expect a big time QB next year.

Looked over the years for solid players from Tennessee-is there much talent?? I know the kids from the Vols but are there any studs whose names I am overlooking from 2004 and on??

Not sure he fits Kiffin's "system." He's more of a dual threat QB IMO, even though rivals rated him as a pro-style passer. From what I saw, his best asset is his scrambling/running ability.

Its not like Kiffin is going to turn away a QB because he has the ability to run.

I agree with Chavis.

Kiffin recruited Tebow while he was at USC--and we know he can run. Boyd could have been an arm strength concern.

1. Marlon Brown-uncommitted. UT and UGA will battle it out. I say we land him.
2. Austin Long-committed to UGA. Kid is a UGA legacy and we never had a chance.
3. Eric Gordon-committed to UT and was thought to be a heavy Bama lead until Kiff got to him.
4. Alex Bullard-committed to ND. Grew up a UT fan and CPF let him slip to ND and Weiss. Maybe Kiff could pull him back if he wants him.
5. Gabriel Hunter-committed to Ole Miss. Can't say we ever wanted him. We've got Williams and Oku.
6. Daniel Hood-uncommitted. Shady past scared us away though we could have had him if we wanted.
7. Will Jackson-committed to GT. Again, wanted to come to UT but our OL class was already shaped.
8. Dominique Allen-committed to LSU. Was a Vol but switched. We lost him because of the bad year and likely won't get him back.
9. Marsalis Teague-uncommitted. UF leads but Kiff has put us in a formidable position. Not sure if UF will have enough schollys for him.
10. Greg King-uncommitted. Bama leads but we are making a push. Not sure that Bama will have room.

Rogers should be in the top 10 for sure and King, Teague, and Rogers are all very underrated.

Finally, something for us to work with here!

Allen and Teague are a possible pair (long-time friends), right? Why wouldn't Allen reconsider if Teague was interested enough?

Miles is the new Larry Coker. LSU is done.

Good comparison.
I think he is done also.

Actually, you're more correct in saying he is done.

LSU will recover again another day under some other coach. The number of years the program loses on Miles is the only unknown.

This. Miles is bringing in some talent, he just can't use it..Someone will come in a couple years, and start to tear it up

They'll have the talent, but for this year's recruiting class, nobody knows who will coach during their junior or senior years... and it's not like LSU was so extraordinary before Saban. They could hire another Miles... or worse.

i agree, if anything happens its with Bullard. Stated somewhere is that he grew up a Vol fan, so it might not be too far of a shot to get him,
