2. No effort until down 16 pts.
3. 10 missed free throws.
4. Still cannot hit 2 ft shots in lane
5. No team leader to offset a player like Collins
6. KU players much much more coachable today
7. No team chemistry from UT today
8. UT has not learned how to play consistently on the road.
9. KU had a team on the court...UT had Tyler Smith and 4 other guys.

After reading the thread, I'm lead to believe its because Kansas has more white boys than us.

I would also like to add...

11) JP Prince was allowed to play (stellar again today at 2 of 8 shooting and 5 personal fouls). He is awesome.

12) Bobby Maze is our point guard (4 assists, 4 turnovers)

13) We shot 3s worse than my church league team (until the last 2 minutes when they didnt count)

Not to mention we havent been ready to play the whole year. Bruce better get his A$$ together and start being a motivator getting them up to play.We cant go backwards and I simply dont care we are young so was Kansas they owned us all over today. He keeps this mediocrity up Fire Bruce.

Brian Williams had by far the worst game of his career. He was abused - guy couldn't even box out.

You can't go on the road, and spot the home team a 14-point lead in the first 5 minutes. Especially when you can't play defense.

And when you do manage to mount a comeback, please don't allow Wayne to kick UT squarely in the crotch with 3 minutes left by launching a prayer of a rushed 3 when momentum is going our way. I held out hope for us until I saw that shot go up...

it has absolutely nothing to do with white and black.
I have coached for 16 years and any kid that wants to be is coachable.
why does everyone turn stuff into race.

its that kind of thinking that causes so much racism.

That was a play on another thread. He wasn't serious.

yep. That was the "game over" moment right there. If Wayne doesn't take that shot, we get it inside and either get fouled or score (or both), KU gets more rattled - could have been a different outcome.

Can't bash Wayne too much, though. He came to play. Played very, very well in the second half, overall.

You also need to blame Tatum for the stupid attempt to steal the ball where he slammed into press row - left us 4v5 and Collins got the easy 2. Sure, it was good effort by Tatum - but it was a dumb play that cost us just as much or more than the Chism shot because he had no real chance of getting the ball. I thought they were laying into Chism too much for that shot. He had just had a 3 pointer go in and out (I cant believe it came out) and made the one before that.

14) Lack of scrappy player that is not afraid of floor burns.....(missing a Bradshaw type player. who made things happen with hustle and heart).

The reason that UT was out of the game from the beginning is because every player on our team was awestruck by Allen Field House and the video that plays 10 seconds prior to tip-off. When I watched our team watch that video, I knew it would be a rocky start...I just didn't realize how rocky.

this might be true.

but what's definitely true is that this team looks like it has no clue what it's doing.

Appears uncoached. Need to go back to the chaos of press and drop back to 3-2. Offense should go through Smith and Hopson.

Hopson had tiny white slug guarding him today and never went to the post. I don't get it.

Hopson plays timid. Plays one step slower than everyone else right now. He is having a tough time adjusting to the college game. I don't see him leaving for nba dollars anytime soon.

I noticed that every time UT was in man, eventually a UT defender had to step up and help guard another guy. KU always found the open guy kept burning UT with it. Man to man is not good for the Vols.

The final stat line for Chism had him getting 17 point, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 6 blocks to go along with only 1 turnover. He did show up today. This was against what is widely considered one of the up and coming big men in the country.
