Bellamy is a long shot as of now, but if Clemson fires some offensive coaches and we impress on his visit this weekend I would give us as good of shot as anyone.
I will go with legit possibility but will stop short of calling it likely.
Hinshaw has been working this kid hard all fall. In talking amongst ourselves I for one definitely questioned whether they were wasting their time, but we kept hearing that he had some interest. I think b/c Hinshaw has really put in the legwork here that the interest is legit. Impressive to me that he's going to get the kid on campus when it seemed two months ago that they had no shot.
Guys...jmoore referenced the Rivals formula I have programmed into a spreadsheet and I have to confirm that it does NOT take into account other teams adding players....how in the world could a formula do that?
My statement about what happens if COuch and Lanier commit was that their commitments would give us 1248 total points which would put us at 15th as the rankings stand right now...
However, I have averaged the team rankings from Rivals over the past 5 years and based on that 1600 total points is the magic number that would get us safely into the top 15
Based on that average we only need 4 more 4*'s to get past 1600....
Does anyone want to bet me that won't happen?
If you believe Rivals is going to have less four and five stars this year or be "more selective" as they put it, it probably will take less this year than years past.Guys...jmoore referenced the Rivals formula I have programmed into a spreadsheet and I have to confirm that it does NOT take into account other teams adding players....how in the world could a formula do that?

So for those few of you who continue to say we wont have a Top 15 class, how are you feeling about that now? Thunder has the formula for Rivals & he said once Lanier & Couch commit we will be 15th. We are still going to add Clear, Richardson, & Wright along with 2-3 more 4 stars. but Dooley cant recruit lol: Heck we might even end up on the cusp of Top 10 .
That will increase some after the final ratings but they have already said they will be more selective than in the past. There will be less total this year.

You asked how a formulat could do that. First you need to plug in the amount of scholarships available (including any conference/NCAA limitations) for the teams in contention. I think you could get an acurate assumption by just plugging in the current top 25. Second, take there current avg. star rating and apply that to there available slots. This will give you the most acurate idea possible withought factoring in other more subjective factors.

That means I would have to program every other teams current class then do all the things you mentioned...
I'm a recruting junky but that's a little too close to being obsessed than I want to get...
I think I'll stick with using to averages
