Chris, do you even know what your talking about? I love both equally, straight up. But to say that FB doesn't sched tough OOC games is asanine. Have you looked @ our 2011 sched? I don't remember a tougher one. Cincy, UNC, LSU, ect. What about this year? Oregon, UF, LSU (Don't have to play them) Bama, that's 4 legit NC contenders.

There just isn't as much to go on with basketball. With recruiting, nobody is going to committ in basketball till the fall, and with football it's recruiting 24/7. You also have spring practice, summer workouts, then fall practice. It's the RTL (which nobody cares that much about) and then fall practice.

OOC stands for "out of conference". Granted, we do usually schedule one decent school in football, but that's only when we do. We didn't have one last season, Oregon will be the one this season. In terms of quality and quantity, bball tops football easily. All bias aside, it's completely reasonable for any UT fan to be more excited about basketball right now, despite football being sooner. I'm not saying that anybody should be, but I'm choosing to be adamant about my stance.

I hate this thread... do folks like you (the OP) find yourselves unaware of the expression "state of affairs?"

Tennessee is a football school, but we're also multifaceted in terms of athletics... so when our flagship program is in a bad spot, we're in the fortunate position of having other sports to look forward to. Yes, our men's b-ball is at the height of its power, but that will never mean we are a basketball school.

Crikey.

But that doesn't mean that people can't be more excited about basketball than football.

Its August now. Whats next month? COLLEGE FOOTBALL! The best sport ever known to man. Tennessee will always be a Football school. Its where its past and tradition is. But I'm glad College Basketball, our program has gone from nothing to really something. Bruce Pearl is the man. I'm excited for college basketball, but football is my true love.

no its truth..its kinda wack..its amatuerish as hell...only a handful of kids are worth watching..NBA is where i get my basketball fix

What a profound statement...."College basketball is amateurish." What will we hear next? "They wear pads in football..."

You watch that league where professionals are allowed to travel, carry the basketball and beat the hell out of each other to the point where all they want to do is fight. Half of them are criminals and all of them are primma donnas. Good call!!:fool:

So, why are you posting here? I assume you can read the name of the forum, right?

Otherwise, good for you if you can watch that garbage product of the NBA where nothing is worth watching for 80% of the season, the games have loud and obnoxious pumped in noise because the fans are too busy sitting on their hands, the offensive sets consist of half the team standing and watching and a bunch of pampered kids play at 75% effort for most of the game.

Sorry, I'll stick to quality and that's the college game. It's as "amatuerish" as that Miami college football that you love.

The Miami Hurricane fan called something amateurish (and misspelled it). That's real cute.

So he disagrees with you all, get off the man's nuts. Some people on here bludgeon people to death for them belittling others' opinion then turn right around and do the same thing.

If he thinks the NBA is a better "Basketball" game, then more power to him. He's wrong, but that's his perogative.

Oh give me a break. It isn't like this is some general discussion board. He specifically went to a college basketball board to tell people it sucks. Don't carry water for him, he was trying to stir up crap and then played innocent. Get off his nuts. If he comes here to mock people who obviously like college basketball (a shocking development for a college basketball board) and can't handle the repercussions, then he can piss off.

Go ahead and keep thinking that you have all the answers Unimane.

What the hell are you talking about?

The guy came here to piss on everyone's head for liking college basketball and then got a deserved ridicule. If you can't see through his charade that's not on me, so don't try and deflect now by doing some kind of passive-aggressive argument.

Whatever. Nobody just "expresses their opinion" by going to a message board and saying they don't like that particular thing the board exists for without trying to stir up crap. If I went to a Miami board and said "Hey Miami just doesn't do it for me. They're just a bunch of amateurs", I'm sure people will say "Oh, thank you for your opinion.", right?

Anyway, fine, you don't like college basketball. We do, which is why we're here. Adios.

Don't worry, someone just pissed in his corn flakes this morning

I think someone dumped in your Cheerios... I'm with Unimane... what was the point of him coming to the basketball forum just to dog the sport? That's like going to a concert just to let everyone know you think the band sucks. There's just no point aside from being an obnoxious turd nugget.
