Top 20 recruiting class BOOM!

I am good with 6-7 more and still room for 2-3 transfers or jucos. OL and DL next year will be upper echelon in SEC for first time in 10 years.

Kasim Hill is our second QB, I doubt we recruit another unless we lose Bailey.
Hill, HB and Mauer...we are actually in good shape at QB. I would prefer HB have a year to develop and Mauer and Hill be the QBs next year before HB has to play. I do think HB will be the QB that is a starter for 3 years.

You can only sign 25 in a year, that includes transfers. Can’t save schollies for next year when you are already under 85.

No point in loading up a class with underwhelming talent. Do the math 25x4=100, so somewhere 15 have to go regardless. I’d rather stay short this year so we have the full 25 to use next year. Lyle showed what happened when you kid up on lesser talent. It may not hit the next season but within a couple years you will be stuck with limited numbers and also stuck with that lesser talent. I’d much rather be at 80 players with 60 of those 4-5* than at 85 with only 45 being 4-5*.

I’d be happy if we could land one elite WR. No idea where Callaway fits in, he could play either side of the ball. Really wish tee would’ve surprise us here.
I put Jalin Hyatt in that category.

We can take a full 25 this year and not affect next year’s numbers. Taking 23 would give us flexibility with two spots for grad transfers or allow us to backcount two next season. Those are just options.

Jj Peterson be, where’s my suitcase.
I thought he did well and played hurt also. He absolutely got laid out by a teammate as they were going for a tackle. I could have swore he broke his damn arm. He most definitely favored it afterwards but the kid kept making plays and playing. He got heart, he's going to be a good one in time.

If you know how to add, substract, divide and multiply, you can easily figure it out. It is actually pretty easy.
One would assume reading comprehension actually is key with the comment in question. Maybe you know the ever elusive rule of long snappers only being 2 stars?

TN is already 14 down, need to sign 25 the next two years to get back to 85. I understand what you’re saying but if you are playing with 71 on scholarship, you basically are playing with sanctions. There is still plenty of good talent to be had. Like OM just had a 4* DT decommit, go grab him.

Add to the fact, there is discussion on moving the 25 limit, possibly increasing it due to the transfer portal OR not counting transfers against your total #.

it's this situationl that we're in specifically where the 25 man limit really hurts a program that's rebuilding and is just short bodies...period.

down to 71 currently, plus losing the seniors after this year, plus any other transfers out, you know, maybe some grad transfer possiblities that are likely to happen.....................we'll still be short a few players next season, more attrition, maybe some NFL defections??? and yeah, it's probably 21 before we're looking at having a full roster of players that were recruited ON PURPOSE.. and not just to plug a hole on a leaky ship.....if that makes sense.......

Second part makes too much sense for it to be approved. When did they start counting transfers against signing classes?

Of course I do. It has always been that way unless they walk on. Other schools also have them.

I'll break this down in the most simple way possible since my argument isn't about walkons or class calculations.

There isn't a rule that specifies long snappers are ONLY 2 stars, simple....
Never said that all long snappers were two stars. Why do you want to be combative?

BOT did, then you jumped in with the understandings of arithmetic implying that I didn't understand how rankings work. I was simply explaining that what you're talking about has no bearing on the conversation that I had with him.

good point, 25 limit really hurts any team trying to rebuild. Now, don’t see signing 38 like OM did in a year (the reason the rule was set forth) but it really puts teams behind the 8 ball.

The other thing that some overlook is the fact the Pruitt had to deal with the first ESD and no one knew what to expect. Well, close to 75-80% signed in the ESD leaving him to scramble with what was left and what was left that was SEC caliber. Not only was the hay in the barn for most recruits, Pruitt didn’t have the relationships established with the guys who were left, he was handcuffed. He had to evaluate, establish, convince players that had been looking at others for years, tough gig. I did expect him to be higher last year and still has a chance to finish strong this year.

yep. all of this. the timing of all of this for our program couldn't have been worse. it is what it is and all, but you're right it isn't really acknowledged as "a thing" to be accounted for in the rebuild like it probably should be. 2018 was a frankenstein class that still has some questions in it. it is nice to see some signs of life though out of some of those kids.

but for all intents and purposes, 19 was the first "real" class he's had here....and will be what this year's and next year's class are built around and built on.

The ESD makes it much harder to change the HC now. It was already tough to put together a good 1st signing class .. now it is almost impossible. If a school promotes a new HC from within is about the only way to not get killed due to the ESD.
