I gave them credit. They confused him by dropping a DE into coverage. Still, I bet if you ask Kurt about it, he says he shouldn't have made the throw.
yeah, because qb's that throw game changing pick 6's in the super bowl will come back and tell you it was the right decision?
i'll just go back to what Jim MOra said about this play on NFL Network...."Dick Lebeau outsmarted Kurt Warner on this play"........and then he went in to a break down of hte play.
Harrison faked a blitz which baited Kurt in to that quick cross route.
as that happpened, Harrison made his drop right in front of Boldin, and made the pick.
was it a mistake? sure it was. it was also a great defensive play.
defensively, i doubt it was designed for a 100 yard pick 6. it was designed to take away a receiver. in that design a couple things can happen....the INT, a deflected pass or the QB recognizes and has to go elswhere extending the play allowing pressure to possibly get to him before he can find his next read.
in this case, kurt didn't recognize it, which was his mistake, and Harrison then made a great play by the design of the defense. If that defense hadn't been called he's not in position to make that play.
anyway, that's how i see it.
