Hey,

just a thread to debate the top drivers in any series of all time... So get your paper and pen out because I am sure it's going to become a list-athon!!!!!!!! :dance2:

Top 20 drivers of all time in no order, my version:

Henri Pescarolo,
Fangio,
Senna,
Prost,
Schumacher,
Mansell,
Tom Kristensen,
Frank Beila,
Hans Stuck,
Jim Clarke,
Phil Hill,
Richard Petty,
Graham Hill,
Ron Fellows,
Gerald Larousse,
Jacky Ickx,
Alberto Ascari,
Derek Bell,
Mario Andretti,
Emanuele Pirro.

If I had to choose number one of all time it would have to be Kristensen because he has achieved a ridiculous amount in his time... Every time I see him race he never ceases to amaze me. In his field I would pick him over anyone...

This list about if every driver ever was in equal equpiment who would be in the top 20, it's who has been the best in their particular field of racing.

Any agreements/disagreements???

Let the games, debates and listing begin!!!!!!

Jeff Gordon
Tiny Stewart
Kyle Busch - I don't care how immature he may be, that guy can drive

Petty is overrated. Raced in a time when not many teams had really good cars that could compete every weekend.

Love the pictures... Some very interesting choices. Senna is quite low while Prost is so high. Kristensen has do many more achievements than those above him. No Ickx? Wow....

No Phil Hill?

But its good to see variety. Some great picks none the less. Why Stewart at 1?

Oh. The numbers are not important. I just put them there so I knew I had 20. I don't know why no Phil Hill, I just always thought a lot more of Andretti when it came to American drivers.

I do rank Prost higher than Senna though. A fair bit higher.

I cannot believe no one has included A.J. Foyt. He won in everything he drove, the only reason he didn't win in F1 is he didn't drive in it. Many rank him above Andretti. Also, no one has listed Dan Gurney, won in F1, LeMans, Sebring, NASCAR, and Trans-Am and Can-Am. Another to consider is Mark Donahue, won Indy 500, NASCAR, Trans-Am, Can-Am, competed in F1.

I believe Stirling Moss should be higher on all lists.

If you are looking only at driving ability, I strongly disagree.

No, all around racecraft. Senna was faster and might have been more talented, Prost played the game smart, IMO.

Yeah, I should have included Dan Gurney and AJ. But I wanted to get in a few of my personal favorites.

Interesting and diverse list, I would kick out Ron Fellows, there are many above him. David Pearson was a better driver than Petty. No Stirling Moss??? You do mean Hans Stucke the senior? What about Sir Jack?

I see where you are coming from on Ron, but to me, some of his performances in the early days of the c5r were master class.... Yes I mean Hans senior. Jack Stewart or Brabham?

I see Makinen but no Sebastien Loeb? McRae was a personal hero as well.

WRC happens to be my favorite series.
