How about Ron Widby or Tom Boerwinkle, they took us to the 1st SEC Champ. in several years at the time.

I heard Bert Bertlekamp yesterday discussing this with Jimmy Hyams.

Bert's top five:

Bernard King, Dale Ellis, Ernie Grunfeld, Allan Houston, (tie) Reggie Johnson and Chris Lofton.

Thoughts?

hard to argue with that list although I never saw King, Ernie, Dale or Johnson play.

From guys I've seen play probably

Houston, Lofton, Isaiah Victor, CJ Black and Chism

No Brandon Wharton, Ron Slay, or Tony Harris on the list of guys you seen?

My list is probably the same:

King, Ellis, Lofton, Grunfeld, and Houston

Did you know: Ernie Grunfeld played in the 1973 Maccabiah Games

According to some then, he should be banished as a UT Alum !

Hyams had Grunfeld in second ahead of Ellis but I got the impression that Bert likes Ellis in that spot. Hyams also had Johnson in sole possession of fifth place (no tie with Lofton).

Actual Tennessee natives Top 5:

Penny Hardaway
Larry Finch
Lorenzen Wright
Ronnie Robinson
Elliot Perry
Andre Turner
