Top Players For 2005

Just a question, I have heard alot of people saying that we might have the best recieving corps that we have had in a very long time. I know that none of them put up HUGE numbers last year but I think MEACHAM has the potential to be one of the top 100. And what aobut SIMON?

simon has injury questions....cant really rank someone who played one game last year...

That list was a little comical to say the least. Brian Brohm at #13? Based on what? How can you put a guy that was a freshman QB last year that didn't even start. He was Stephon Felors's backup last year. He has hardly even played. Derrick Williams on the list at #92???????? How you can put a true freshman that has never stepped on college football field during a game on the list is beyond me.

agreed. the list is a little commercial.

i do agree that those three mentioned from tennessee deserve to be on anyone's top 100 list.

what i love is that the players with the most potential for next year are almost like having multiple secret weapons.

ie. all our receivers, sears & toenia, simon & gaither.

all i can say is BEWARE OF THE BIG ORANGE!!!

is it september yet? ;)

6. DeAngelo Williams, Memphis, RB: Has Bush's burst and Peterson's power, all coupled with outstanding hands.

Is this guy really as good as they say he is?

yea he is. Mel Kiper said that if he would have came out of college this year he would have been the first running back taken.

I've seen bits and pieces of his games last season. He is amazing. Should make this year's game against Memphis interesting.

meachem will let everyone know who he is this year, i guantee that.

riggs should be higher.

but this list is junk anyway.

there will be players that we have never heard of get media attention.

like peterson did last year.

How in the HELL did Chris Leak make that list? He's the most over rated player in college football and yet he is #19 on that list...Makes no sense....He's like origami and folds under pressure, the Miami game last year proved it...ESPN needs to quit kissing the Florida schools' butts

I figured Ainge might have made that list...He will be a big player this year

The QB's on that list, in order of appearance

Matt Leinart
Omar Jacobs
Brian Brohm
Vince Young
Chris Leak
Reggie McNeal
Jared Zabransky
Drew Tate
Bruce Gradkowski
Tyler Palko
Chad Henne
Brad Smith
Marcus Vick
Brady Quinn
Charlie Whitehurst
Darrell Hackney

I think that Ainge is probably at the bottom end of that list.

They didnt put up huge individual numbers, but as a group, they were dynamite. The UT QB (whoever it will be) will be told time and time again to spread it around, dont key in on a pareticular reciever. That is a great problem to have. It creates headaches for the opposing DC in who to key on. When you have him worried to death about our passing game, you run Riggs right up the gut. :naughty:

When you lead the SEC in passing yds, avg, total offense, and are 3rd in efficiency that will get you mentioned. BTW, I think it's more the UF D that folded under pressure late in the games than he did...4th Qtr D was terrible and depth was and still is a concern.

i agree...4th Quarter D was the main problem for UF. Hopefully we'll see a good one come september.

UF lost 7 games the past two seasons tied or with the lead with under two to go... pathetic.
