Careful now. "The Barn" out recruited you last year.

Scout and ESPN both has us ranked ahead of them. However, they don't take into account JUCO players in their rankings. Rivals does. Even then, the difference between the top 5, even more so #3, #4, and #5, is minuscule and practically interchangeable.

I would much rather have Bama's '10 class than the Barn's.
I agree. With the depth we created in the past few recruiting class, the needs we met and recruited this year was much better than Auburns. Not to mention, our DB class is just filthy.

Fair enough but Alabama fans are the ones that became obsessed With Rivals' National Recruiting Titles when you started winning them. (And with good reason as we all unfortunately saw recently)

Yeah. Its true. I do think Rivals is far and away the best. And I accept that Auburn "beat" us. When you been through the dark ages we went through the past decade, you cling to whatever you can say your best at. It was a bit ridiculous, and many Bama fans are acting like its the apocalypse that AU "beat" us in recruiting. Its pretty embarrassing. However, I trust Nick Saban with any recruits he brings in. He's the best "recruiting service" out there. I think Dooley is a great evaluator as well (see his LSU days with Saban), and ya'll will get some quality athletes regardless of star ranking.

So who exactly does R.Dismukes favor BAMA or the BARN?

Word is that it's a Bama-Florida State battle.

Long time Auburn fan, but Saban has been recruiting him much longer. He has been sporting a Bama hat (reportedly, you know how that is) at various different public events (Mardi Gras in Mobile, bball games, etc.). So who knows? He wants to decide before the summer I believe.

It's different in Alabama. From birth, kids are raised to think they have to choose one or the other, Bama or Auburn. Not to mention that high school football in Alabama is a BIG DEAL. That makes it hard for other schools to come in and snatch those guys out from under those two programs, because it's their dream to play for those teams.. It does happen sometimes, but not too often especially when you're talking about the top-notch recruits. Even then, sometimes there's more to it than meets the eye. Case in point - Philip Rivers. It's not like neither of the two in-state schools recruited him. They just wanted him to play defense instead of QB.

Very well said.

Geography helps Alabama as well. Most places in Alabama a no more than a couple hours from either of the two major schools. Tennessee is so spread out. Memphis to Knoxville is a long haul. I think that also affects high school football. Everyone is sorta secluded to their little section 'til playoff time.

I think we need to hit Mobile hard. ALOT of big time talent comes from that area. Tee Martin, JaMarcus Russell, Julio Jones, just to name a few that have won a NC that came from Mobile area.

I am a tn alum and live in mobile. mobile was lance thompsons area under saban. he has a ton of contacts down here.

Reese Dismukes is announcing next Wednesday and my money would be to the Barn. Which makes sense for him. I would also throw out there that I think they get a commitment soon from Erique Florence DB in the near future. The other 3 we are going after are L Fanning who I do believe we get and than J Rose and C Landrum who are still open. Like I said before this is a good year for a team like UT to come in and get players from AL because of our class size this year and some of the targets we are going after out of state.

O'Reilly got to know Region and Tigers target Reese Dismukes (Spanish Fork, Ala.) during a visit to Auburn. "That was awesome," O'Reilly told ESPN affiliate Web site AuburnUndercover.com. "They are both cool guys. They both want the same things I want."

All three offensive lineman intend to graduate early and enroll in January. Dismukes, an Under Armour All-American guard, plans to announce next Wednesday.
