Tori McCoy to Ohio State

Because some schools are willing to bend rules to get players cleared and our staff isn't willing to do that. Some schools also have more clout with their conferences than others. O$U is the Chosen One in the Big Ten. In all sports. The SEC wouldn't clear her. Not with her grades in the current shape they were in.

Think about it. She was going to wait until April to sign. Odds are if you're waiting until April to sign, unless you're a complete drama queen like Aja Wilson was, you're getting your grades in order. (That isn't a hypothetical guess with McCoy. This was the case with McCoy.) This doesn't happen very often because the vast majority of recruits don't have to worry about being cleared.

Should we assume that in the event Tenn signs anyone in April?

I think that's a reasonable question. Non-athletes don't typically hear about their college acceptances until the spring. I think it's plausible an athlete may want to find out where classmates are going, particularly a SO, before committing, and maybe just share in all the attendant uproar.

But your kind over on your board love to do the same thing. It's like the pot calling the kettle black.

My kind? Do we all look alike too? LOL

I don't hold you responsible for every post here. Don't make me responsible for everything posted on a UConn board.

Who's trashing her?

Who used the word "trashing"? I merely asked if this comment applies to a player who signs with Tenn in April:

Odds are if you're waiting until April to sign, unless you're a complete drama queen like Aja Wilson was, you're getting your grades in order.

I made no judgement on what you posted.

Do we know for a fact that Tori's grades were bad? I am not saying it isn't true but we sure were holding our collective breaths in hopes of getting Tori. The SEC have no problems accommodating top football players with grade issues. Is it a case where we do not treat female athletics the same way?

sending a player packing to free up scholarships for other players is definitely immoral.

It's one of two things. Either you are trashing a player who said no to Tenn based on nothing but speculation or else you are getting actual information from people who would have the facts, namely either the LV program or the Tenn admissions office. If it's the former it is simply an act of petty vindictiveness on your part. If you are repeating facts that you got from those who know (and you do claim to have those sources) then the university has committed a serious violation of McCoy's privacy rights by telling you and could be sued. You claim to know it to be a fact. If you are telling the truth then future recruits better think twice before sharing their confidential information with a college that releases that information to someone with a habit of posting it on a public forum.

And yes, bitter comments about lost recruits happen on a lot of boards, UConn's included. I find them all disgusting.

And as far as the "immoral" withdrawal of scholarships to make room for recruits, I'm surprised you missed this move by the Tenn women's track coach:

Tenn track coach, Beth Alford-Sullivan, pulls an all-time scumbag move | The Key Play

Scumbag? At Tennessee? Heavens!

Well fortunately for us we're discussing Lady Vol Basketball.....not track! Nice reach though.

I'm pretty sure we gave that track coach the business for that when it happened? It wasn't overlooked.

We did, gule. It was despicable IMO, and should have been corrected by Cheek and Hart. They are the ones who allowed that to happen - as well as the ones who hired the track coach. 'Nuff said.

And as pointed out...has nothing to do with Lady Vol basketball.

Well, it is fact, and no it's not from within UT.

If it's the former it is simply an act of petty vindictiveness on your part.

It's not the former, and you wrote the book on petty vindictiveness, anyway, so who the hell are you to throw stones from your glass house, fool?

yawn.

Smear campaign. Yawn again.

It was fairly common knowledge about Tori's academic issues and that was why she was waiting until April. I didn't know about the OSU thing until recently, though. I was told by a source earlier this month about it and it was backed up by another who is totally unrelated to the first one. And I don't speak to anyone I know at UT about recruiting because the people I know there currently aren't involved with that.

And as far as the "immoral" withdrawal of scholarships to make room for recruits, I'm surprised you missed this move by the Tenn women's track coach:

Wow, how long did it take you find this nugget? This was discussed on UT boards a long time ago (i.e. when it was actually news). Our track coach is a crazy *****. You're preaching to the choir. Yes she's a scumbag and yes she's immoral for doing that.

I love the failed effort on your part to get your "Ah-ha!!!" moment, though. Try again, Sherlock.

You are alarmingly annoying. You might want to work on that.
