Tossed to the side.

We have not been tossed to the side. This is about viewership and money at the present.
Texas beats TCU and watch another Tossed Salad being made.

Look at what other CFP talk hit the conversation this week.

BIG 10 two teams in the CFP -- Laughable.
Oregon running the table --- questionable
TCU
USC talk
LSU as a two loss team making the playoff.
Alabama & Clemson are out but we are still discussing them and ways they could make it in.
Tennessee's poor showing which is a fact, but over half have them in the Final CFP

This is about stirring the pot, viewership clicks and $$$.

All we have to do is hang in there, win convincely, and let other crap happen. We have better than a 60% chance to make it to the CFP. I like those odds.

Settle down keyboard commando. Your understanding isn't a prerequisite of conversation or observation. It was a response to the " tossed to the side" thread conversation. I don't regularly watch those hacks. Just trying to keep abreast of playoff speculation

Keyboard commando. If I used emoji's, the eye roll one would be inserted here. This forum is pretty much the extent of my social media use.

Sorry for the bolding and exclamations. I just have such contempt for the media (sports and political) that the idea of caring what they think is just crazy to me. Carry on.

You don't need to watch them, but they are supposed to be the most knowledgeable people about CFB. If you think their opinions and narratives don't sway the polls, you live under a rock.

I value your opinion and any fan's that pays attention as much or more than any so-called "expert". You might be right that they sway the polls, and that doesn't speak well of any committee member, who should be watching the games and judging for himself. That's why they're in that position, or it should be.

Maybe they were hoping they would be the next LSU and have that magical undefeated season. They aren't even going to Atlanta. The are officially done with big games until postseason. I see a lot of people suggesting they will finish #4 but other than that theres not much else to talk about until post season.

Feels like a bye week if you watching any of the talking head pregame shows.

Is it just me or did the media use Tennessee through the first 8 games? It seemed like every other week we had the biggest game in the country, all the talking heads discussed us through the week. Think of how much money, views, and just traffic ESPN, cbs, and other sites used Tennessee through the first 9 games.

Now that the dust has settled and we lost to Georgia, all we have is talking heads bashing ut now, negative news, and how we don’t belong after we pretty much carried college game day and the sec this year..
If we win out, and we are left out of the top 4, that would be the most Tennessee thing ever. Anyway sorry y’all just a random thought, or rabbit hole I went down! 😂 its true tho, we freaking carried college game day and the sec this year, I mean besides us what do you have?? I’m not talking about team skill, I’m talking excitement and views. Besides us what did you have in the sec?? Alabama has been less then spectacular, Georgias biggest game was us, they’re welcome btw, without us georgias sos would be Ohio state level.
What a freaking season though!! Let’s finish these last 3 games and prove to the country we belong in the top 4!!
Leave no doubt!!
Got a lot of Nancy posting on here. Fragile.

Gameday skipped right over the #5 team in the country 's game with Mizzou, while previewing the show. WTF? They talked through #1- 4 in order briefly, then skipped #5 ( TN) and jumped straight to b!t@h boy reece davis' Oregon's game. All that was mentioned was in passing by Herbie AKA king cuckhold was during GA vs. MS ST. , said "GA dominated TN in every possible way" ... F- espn, college gameday and all their fake ass pundits. End of rant

Dude, they gave TN all kinds of love when projecting the 4 playoff teams, predicting you would be there if you win out. Reece even said there was no way he could put LSU in over TN. Besides, you don't need their "love", just win.

Nah any chance was gone against UGA, they will push Stroud into the Heisman. Only chance he might have is just UNREAL numbers the next 3 games, like 6TD's 600 yards each or something crazy.

That was what I said, I think he will still get the invite to NYC, but I don't expect him to get the trophy.

I mean, that’s how it goes. We weren’t even in the spotlight for years, so I don’t see why you’d complain about them pumping us when we’re good and then turning their attention. This is what they’ve always done; talk about the hot teams.

The only thing I’m complaining about is the fact they pumped us all season, we carried the sec in views, and gave game day their biggest games of the season.. and we lose a game to Georgia and instead of pumping us to get that 4 spot, It’s like they’re trying to do the opposite.

I'm a broken record by this time, but ........ just don't f***king watch these shows !!!!!!!
I'll never for the life of me understand the need for validation by paid media hacks of so many fans, and the frustration when it's not given. Who really cares what they say or think?

My theory, sami, is that some of our fans just like scratching their fingernails along the chalkboard. Just to enjoy hearing the annoying screech they generate.

They are just like the media in politics. Lie about the facts to match the narrative you hope people will believe.

Vols get a TON of exposure. Even in down years we are one of the top viewed teams. EVERY YEAR many of our games are on a major network. CBS does our Florida game at 230pm. Same w our Alabama game. Other games are on SEC network. Every game is televised somewhere for me....and I live waaay out of local area now. All the bowls want us cuz we fill up the stadiums and are guaranteed $$$ for them. I really don't get the "they all hate us" narrative. If they did..no way we are #1 in the first bcs rankings. All we have to do is show a little something....and they fall over themselves trying to prop us up from what I see.
