The AD Smith says he is ready to walk away. Seems more of a get-a-way after committing a crime and thinking he is getting away with it.

Gee deserves a full scale azz whipping. Anything short of that simply isn't justice.

Kornheiser calling for Gee's firing right now. Bob Ryan too. Evisceratimf them for the dumbass way they tried to call Tressel rogue. Tressel was Swaggert and they knew it.

Gee is one of the biggest pricks in the world of college sports. I can't stand that tool.

So absurd to hear people say "don't punish these incoming kids for what people before them did." no one cares about vacating past wins, the only thing we all care about is the potentiality of future wins - that's what you punish. The players/coaches represent the university, you have to punish the university. Gene Smith is a new level of delusional...

"Responding to the NCAA's investigation of a memorabilia-for-cash scandal that cost former coach Jim Tressel his job and led to star quarterback Terrelle Pryor leaving school, the university also said Friday it is waiving a $250,000 fine imposed on Tressel and changing his resignation to a retirement. "

It is this kind of attitude that got USC hammered. Arrogance is a killer

Weak ratonalization because taking those L's means nothing.

Exactly. They still played in a BCS Bowl game. They still forced a 3 way tie for the Big TelEveN Title. And they still forced MSU out of the Rose Bowl.

(you might say that MSU deserved the azzzzz whoopin it took from Bama, and shouldnt have been in a Rose Bowl, but the MSU -v- TCU match-up would have been a very good game. That Bama team was disgustingly good)

TCU would have monkey stopped Michigan State.

MSU benefited from a soft schedule and extreme amounts of luck.

Dantonio is a good coach and all, but TCU is a legit championship caliber team. MSU is still a few years, if ever, from reaching that.

The games? They were just vacated not forfeit. It's just like those wins never happened and those games were never played.

Not quite. USC pretty much just stared the NCAA down and said they didn't do anything wrong, and "get over yourselves"

OSU at least looks like they're admitting something went wrong and they did something against the rules

Fair enough. I think it sends the wrong message when you impose more punishment but resind the fine for Sweater Vest.

How's a school self impose vacated wins anyway. Are the the official record keepers? What a joke

Force em to repay Sugar Bowl money, lose scholarships, post season ban, and probation.
Sounds good to me.

Only thing I like about the vacated wins is the return to 0-fer against the SEC in bowl games.
