I've got a 2014. Absolutely the best truck I've ever had. I have two complaints. 1. It rides like a truck. Mine is lifted a bit so it's gonna be a bit harsher ride.Anybody have a Tundra? If so, how do you like it? I pulled the trigger on a 2012 last week and absolutely love mine. Any issues with them that y’all have ran into?
word is new tundra's have v6 with turbo. departure from small v8.I've got a 2014. Absolutely the best truck I've ever had. I have two complaints. 1. It rides like a truck. Mine is lifted a bit so it's gonna be a bit harsher ride.
2. The e-tune radio crashes ever so often. Annoying.
I will never buy another truck that isn't made by Toyota.

I’ll be honest. I looked for a GMC. They are proud of their stuff. The ride quality is the best of any full size truck but they have issues as well. I went with Toyota because of the reliability and because their max tow capacity is better than chevy/gmc and ford in the same year range.yeah, what my neighbor told me. wild.
think i'll stick to taco. although if i could afford. GMC is posh.
Wow: That's interesting.I’ll be honest. I looked for a GMC. They are proud of their stuff. The ride quality is the best of any full size truck but they have issues as well. The newer year Chevy/gmc are also having lots of issues with their stuff. I forget exactly what it’s called but it’s when the engine is cutting off cylinders from 8 to 4. It’s hard on em.Wow: That's interesting.
Ive always been a Toyota guy, own a little stock in Toyota. Just had heard about the issues with V6.
Admittedly, Ive done zero research other than driving them for work.
The 4.7 is a super reliable engine. I drove one in a 4Runner over 300K then passed it along to a family member. It developed an oil leak that was solved with new valve cover gaskets. Still burnt zero oil between changes. Liked it so much I found the same truck a couple years newer with lower mileage.Just traded in my 2006 Tundra a month ago as a downpayment on my wife's new car. It had nearly 290k miles at trade in. I bought it in 2010 for $11,500. Suffice to say, I got my money's worth and then some. I can't say enough good things about Toyota trucks.
I would still have it today if it hadn't been leaking oil profusely for the last 6-7 months. Despite all my efforts, I couldn't fix the issue and it was constantly making a huge oil spot in my driveway, so I had to say my goodbyes.

I think the new government fuel mileage regulations are forcing manufacturers to make drive trains more complex to squeeze a few extra mpgs out. Smaller displacement with turbos, cylinder dropping at cruising speed, thinner castings for weight reduction, etc. it’s making every engine less reliable. IMHO
Haven't owned a Tundra but looked at them hoping I was gonna be able to, but had to get wife a new(er) vehicle. I did one time have a '94 SR5 4wd 22R 5-speed stick. That 4 banger never new it was pulling a heavy fish 'n' ski boat behind it either. Greatest vehicle ever IMO. Good chance I'd still be driving it if I hadn't totalled it. My nephew had a Tundra extra cab 4.7 2wd work truck and got around 23mpg on the road according to him. He has his won personal Tundra now with the 5.7 in 4wd. Loves them. I prefer any of the older styles to the new revamp. Do not like the grill work. Not sure you can get the 4.6 in the Tundra used. It was a successful solid upgrade to the 4.7 in the GX460 with better mpg (19 hwy on fulltime 4wd). Tundras stayed with the 6 speed trans for a long time through these popular body styles that had the 4.7/5.7 and kept it simple and reliable. Same set up as in the 3 LC/Lexus SUV variants.
The new 2024 Chevy Traverse dropped the V6 for a turbo 4 (The "standard" engine in the Silverado's is a turbo 4 now too)I really want a Tundra. I currently drive a 2024 RAV4 that my wife will eventually drive, when here lemon 2019 Ford Escape indecently bites the dust. Toyota started using the twin turbo engine with the new gen Tundras in 2022.
I’m not a fan of turbo engines, but if any company can figure it out, it’s Toyota. I’m giving it a few years to see how longevity is doing and also for Toyota to work out the kinks.
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma also switched to a 4 cylinder turbocharged engine for its new generation.
All of these manufacturers are downsizing engines and adding turbos to make up for it. V-8s in trucks are being phased out and V-6s are becoming obsolete in all SUVs.

The Grand Wagoneer is a turbo V6.
It's not like they get better gas milage either.
