TP may well have cost the GOP a US Senate seat in Florida

I am not saying that Crist is anything more than a RINO (and certainly not even that, right at the moment). I am not even saying that he's the best candidate.

What I am saying is that the TPers jumped on Rubio's campaign which was based almost entirely on bashing Obama and anyone showing even slight tolerance of him, and that in doing so they may have managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Rubio was gaining a following before the TPers really started behind him. I've followed this with relative interest since the day he threw his hat in the ring.

I don't see how the TPers cost the GOP the seat. It reads that Crist did.

the elections in 2006 and 2008 prove that "bashing" a sitting president can be beneficial for the out of power party.

Crist didn't show mere tolerance, he embraced Obama literally and figuratively. Those might not have been such bad things during the campaign, when Obama was pretending to be a moderate, but not after Inauguration and the veer to his natural state as a radical leftist.
