Traditional Unis Saturday

I MIGHT consider the Orange helmets ONLY with the Orange pants and White jersey combination. Storm trooper stays as is, all Orange stays white helmet. If we are messing with the uni's I would like to see a prominent checkerboard stripe on the helmet and the Orange Pants with a White boarder TESTED. I read that the pant stripe can be up to 4" wide and saw no requirement for it to be monochromatic. I know I saw somewhere we can't do the jersy yoke thing like we did back in the day, but can't find it written down anywhere. I can't find anything in the rulebook about the helmet stripe though it has to be covered somewhere since they are common. Gotta believe a checkerboard stripe is legal till it is not. I have googled till I can't anymore and can't find anything.

I think that their unis are ridiculous, just using them as an example of what is allowed...I would love to believe that UT would never consider anything remotely similar to this. And they are Under Armour.

Not happening. Bookmark if you like. I’ve already seen the lockeroom photo with the orange helmets, it means absolutely nothing.
Bookmarked and returned as requested. You couldn't have been more wrong and you should celebrate your being wrong as those kewl orange helmets you said we would never see from the photo you said means absolutely nothing, actually means something when Tennesee has them.

As of three weeks ago we weren’t planning to wear these, and I stand by that. These have been here for months, and there are still several players who don’t like them whether we’re wearing them or not. Though apparently that is no longer the majority sentiment. Either way I still don’t expect these to remain a part of our repertoire after this season.

“We’re never wearing orange helmets.” - You

Be an adult and just admit that you were wrong.

I have no problem admitting when I’m wrong as I am doing now. All I’m saying is these were never a slam dunk with several team members and still aren’t. Not like the black uniforms were.

You know, most people wouldn’t have bothered to show up and eat crow. I not only did that, but admitted I was wrong. You continuing to harp on this says a lot about you and your character. Praying for you.

Aw now, guys, let the crows be. They're an intelligent species of fowls, very intelligent. They got the IQ of a seven-year-old child. And we really shouldn't eat people, as that is a foul thing to do.

Brother, the plan was for them to wear these at South Carolina since the first few of them started arriving in the summer. The only question was whether all of the helmets from all of the different companies were going to get painted and delivered in time. Once that happened, more than three weeks ago I would add, it was set for this game.

I’m sure they aren’t as popular as the black helmets, but to act like they weren’t going to wear them because some players weren’t excited about them is ridiculous.

Not condoning the checkerboard stripe, but if Maryland can do this on each side, I would think that a single checkerboard stripe would be just fine...View attachment 513025

Having those gray atrocities is bad enough, now we are expected to wear clown suits because some irrelevant football program does it?

I don't like the black unis either, but if there has to be one, at least that one is bad ass looking. To me, the only 'alternate' uniforms should be a classic look from our past, like the Holloway ones.

We've been planning on wearing orange helmets since last year. . .

Thank you for the clarification. I’m not an insider and never claimed to be. Though I do know a few players on the team and heard verbatim from a couple of them that they and a few others do not like them. I’m here merely passing along what I heard.
