Trae Golden Commits

Golden has an ugly shot as a D1 player, but it goes in. He will be a valuable pickup for Bruce and the boys.

GEEZUS ....... Great, Welcome. You can pass, dribble, and shoot, welcome to Knoxville, THE FOOTBALL CAPITAL OF THE SOUTH.......... stop all these weak ass threads !
These threads are nowhere near as weak as some nimrod coming into the basketball forum and complaining about people talking hoops.

Hat, I believe I read somewhere where Golden was rated like the 55 best prospect overall and like the 16th best PG. Do you have any insight as to his specific strenghts / weeknesses / character etc?

Awesome. About time we got some good recruiting news in basketball. I have no doubt in my mind Tennessee will have a really good season this year. I was starting to get worried about the future with the decommits and lack of new commits though. So welcome aboard Golden. We needed you. I know some of our fans haven't been too high on Bruce lately but I would like to see him continue his success here. I personally like him as a coach. Sorry, but I do. I honestly believe this years team can get past the Sweet 16. Final four if they tighten up the defense it get a little more distribution out of the point guard position.

I have to agree. I think he is the best Coach we have had since Ray M.

Weak?

$10* says Golden hits for a higher three point % this season than Crompton finishes with completion %.

* The $10 mentioned is entirely fake and only redeemable for more messageboard trash talk.

Hopefully we can hold onto him. He won't be a great player, but he should fit into the system and contribute for four years.

He's a solid offensive player. I'd worry about his size a little bit in the halfcourt defensively, but if UT gets back to pressing that will mimimize that problem.

Good pickup. No Selby though. We need to get elite talent or we are going to stay were we are. Sweet 16 to maybe an Elite 8 at best.

Nice pick up guys. Really needed it to stop the bleeding, IMO. Addresses a big hole for you, and helps put you in the recruiting spotlight again. Pretty solid point guard, from all I have seen. :good!:

Considering the staffs track record with PGs to this point, if Golden is merely competent I will be happy.
