I realize it is a little premature to make a statement like this after only watching him play three games this year, but his impact on the court has been undeniable in that time.

Trae was a liability on the court last year and I would have just assumed see Melvin play 40 minutes a game. The PG play last year made us long for the good old days of Bobby Maze, flash forward and here we are watching Golden put up 29 in the first regular season game of the season.

His improvement from this time last year to now is just startling, give the kid a hand.

He showed flashes last year, but just never seemed chosen for the role by CBP. I expected him to be our best player this year. Sure looks like it so far.

Is it possible that TN BB could be better than predicted?

I already expected us to be better than we have been projected, we may even be better than I had originally thought. I will have to see more games against stiff competition, but I am optimistic we can be the 5th or 6th best team in the sec.

Having a former PG as his head coach is gonna be huge for his career imo.

yeah, his stats were amazing, setting tons of personal records all in one game:

Golden set career-high in: points (29), assists (9), rebounds (6), field goals made (10), field goals attempted (14), 3-pointers made (9), 3-pointers attempted (9).

15-22 from the FT line...that could be better.

he would have been knocking on a triple double with a few more minutes...sick

Golden was awesome tonight. I never really expected him to look that good. I certainly hope he keeps it up.

I saw Golden hit nothing bit the backboard twice from the 3 point line. He wasn't 9-9. Absolutely outstanding game though.

Golden is just a sophmore, so his play last year had a lot to do with adjusting to college basketball. You could tell he had ability last year, but looks like his confidence is high and he is playing some good basketball right now. Really looks like he has stepped up to the plate to lead this team, which is good since he is the PG.

IMO typically you tend to know a lot more about a college basketball player in their freshman year than you would a college football player for instance and everything I thought I knew about Golden was wrong.

Maybe Coach Zo is the man.

Yeah, its definately an easier transition. Golden will be a good one when its all said and done. I know it is weaker competition, but his intangibles are so much better and he is doing the little things well.

I knew Golden had potential. I've said that alot actually. He's just obviously a guy that thrives in running an offense that lets him use his instincts. He always had skill, but he just wasn't going to do much in the robotic, middle school offense of last year.

I was at the game and it was a very impressive performance by Golden , especially considering he only played 27 minutes. I get the feeling watching these guys that they play with alot more confidence under Cuonzo. They don't seem to play as "uptight". I think this team may surprise some of the "experts" that picked them to finish 11th in the SEC. Maymon is much improved as is Woolridge and McRae. However, depth will be an issue and besides Maymon, we are not very good on the boards. I still say we win somewhere between 15-17 games.

I'd just assume see us win 18 games and win a game in the SEC tournament. That would be a good start for year "0".

Dane Bradshaw I will give you, but the Jajuan Smith improvement was overhyped, he was always good

His first year he was atrocious. What I will give you is not much was expected from Smith as he started as a walk on. I was just throwing out names for sake of coversation. Trae definitely has potential. There aren't too many Mr Georgia high school basketball players at the level he played that flop in college. I even think we saw Trae was taking a step late last season. I felt he was the lone bright spot against Michigan in the tourney.
