Transfer Portal 21-22

I kind of like this system of players transfering and playing immediately. Now, those top players will have to look elsewhere instead of one top school. And, older coaches can't keep up with this style of recruitment because, u got to recruit ur own players to stay, recruit top high school players, & recruit transfers, so it's really competitive and interesting.

No. She would probably put them over the top. I liked her game and she had a very pretty, fluid game...until the basketball missed the basket or clanked off the backboard. If she gets over her shooting yips, she will be a huge difference maker for whomever gets her.
Time will tell! I like Bree Hall’s game much more than Rivers. You’re right though, wherever Rivers lands, she’s going to make a difference with more playing time….IF she develops a shot!

People stay using the word elite unless it’s an elite player from Tennessee lol … like the former LV #9 pick in the WNBA Rae Burrell. All people on VN did all year was bash her repeatedly.. but I guess you knew more than former NBA & WNBA players who are now running a professional team!

I got a question, who is elite on Tennessee current roster? This question will expose a lot of deception! Just watch.

Hall looked like she was more college ready, but Rivers had so much upside. She was so smooth and effortless in her movements...like she was just gliding on air. She's definitely one I want to follow wherever she goes. I bet she'll look like a whole new player (shooting-wise) at her next stop.

Maybe she’ll end up doing like Herbert-Harringan, testing the transfer waters and end up right back at South Carolina, or was that Cuevas? Either way, I’ll be following her as well, I liked her coming out of high school but Johnson and Hall ended up being my favs from that class.

I think SC is sneaking up on Blackwell think they are one of two teams she is looking at. This opens it up for her to go to SC.

Another way I look at it is a counter to the AAU influence. Most of these highly ranked players tend to base their recruiting decision on the input of AAU coaches. AAU coaches tend to have connections with certain college coaches.
College coaches make promises at times knowing they can’t or won’t keep them. So the portal is just basically starting the process over.

Yes. But coaching is a bit of a question mark at UNC.

I definitely think she could schedule better. Outside of that, I think she’s a really good coach. What is it about her coaching that you think isn’t up to par based on her results so far at UNC?

I think she’s a good coach, but I’m not convinced she get Coach beyond an elite 8. She’s a good recruiter, but she doesn’t develop her players.

I’d actually like to see us start playing UNC since their program seems to be back on track.

Kellie tried this year with both Banghart and Wes Moore and neither wanted to commit to it. Wes did bring TN in to do an off season scrimmage .

Banghart may have enough confidence that she will bring TK home for a NC homecoming but if not i would look at a school like wake forest to play next year.

Actually, it does. I think Blackwell has 2 years left? She'd be an upgrade over anyone on SC's bench at her position and would be a good player to have around after Boston's class graduates. On a side note, the freshman Cooper must be thrilled to see Rivers depart.

That was a "World Exposure Basketball Report" tweet...the same ones who brought us "Owasu and Reese to SC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

They're about as trustworthy as a Magic 8-Ball.

Nooo I wanna play UNC so she can play her sister in her homecoming game 😫 Courtney has to be open for it! Both programs are on the up and up

haha i don't kno what to tell you 😂😂😂 she might bring her home next year but as long as Jordy, Jojo/Rickea/Jazz, TK get homecoming games that will be awesome. We could play Ohio St, Michigan or even central michigan which has been solid in the past, and a NC team (there are a plethora) i'll be happy. To think about it i don't think any of the power 5 teams schedule us next year😂

A few recent commitments by portal dwellers:

MSST: R-JR Ramani Parker 6'4 F (Louisville) - fills a huge need for them in the post. If Jessika Carter comes back, that gives them 3 players 6'4/6'5.

Kentucky: GT Adebola Adeyeye 6'2 F (Buffalo) - I'm sure Kyra will take what she can get. Adeyeye fouled out in 8 min trying to guard TK during the NCAAT.

Duke: GT Mia Heide 6'3 F (Tulane) - Blue Devils graduated all of their size, so this gives them at least some post presence.

TAMU: FR Tineya Hilton 5'7 G (Georgia signee) - following Coach Taylor before suiting up for UGA.
