Glad to see Yo get some size.

Still think Ole Miss is going to be less tough compared to this season. Austin was a game changing player with game changing size. They haven’t replaced that at all.

She got a better shooter in Eaton but I have a feeling she won’t be able to play her much. Unless she completely changes defensively she won’t be able to play for Coach Yo. That was her fatal flaw at Arkansas. She was just a pathetic defender.

The player she got will at least give her a post presence, but she is far from Austin. Ole Miss not really being effective in the portal thus far replacing what they lost.

If the commit is indeed a player from the transfer portal.. then this staff has completely dominated recruiting top talent from the PORTAL.
I’m talking former 5⭐️ and 2022 SEC leading scorer Rickea Jackson (best player to enter the portal) and former 4⭐️ Jasmine Powell (best point guard to enter the portal) + 🍊✅!

If it’s true I am very excited! She’s had quite a bit of time to rehab so I think she’ll be good to go come season. She is very active in the post on both ends of the floor. Has great hops and great rebounding instincts.

Awesome that she will already be somewhat familiar with the system and very familiar with the coaching. Should make for an easier transfer and a potential leadership role.

So, I wasn’t going to be excited for this player mainly because of the injury and how much that affected us this past season. But that’s the coaches job.

By from her stats and her credentials as the 2021 MVC DPOY(no doubt on her way to DPOY AND POY honors prior to injury) and 2x first team all MVC she’s certainly more than capable of contributing in a big way to this team. She’s very productive. While I would have loved a bigger post player, I will be excited to see her in Orange if indeed she’s coming here. Wonder if last year is able to be a redshirt year and we get her for two seasons?

Shouldn't it be about time that you give Kellie the benefit of the doubt. She has earned it. If the "boom" is Jasmine, I am sure she will be a big contributor this upcoming season. Jasmine, although undersized, can play the 5 and be more than an adequate backup for Tamari. Jasmine is a seasoned scorer and rebounder. If she has committed to the LVs, Jasmine will fit into the Harper system and be producer from the jump. GBO.

If Jasmine Franklin is indeed the new recruit and healthy, then Tenneesse has not just hit a home run... we have hit a grand slam.
She is not only a wonderful basketball player she is also a great student. She has been selected as a Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) academic honoree.

In 20/21 she was selected as the MVC defensive player of the years. In six NCAA appearances she has gather 65 rebounds. Thirteen rebounds against Sanford in a sweet sixteen game. She shoots 48% from the field and 70 % from the free throw line. Folks this is absolutely one of the top players in the portal and given that Tennessee is loaded...most kids of this caliber would be looking for more playing time. She is also 6' 1" and had 10 double doubles last year. This is a special player.

I'm going into the yard right now and begin practicing screaming "boom."

As wonderful as Jasmine sounds i would still hope we get her and then add another big ! I say that because I want a big playing behind TK this year and then possibly have a year of two after next season. That way the 2023 big isn't thrown into the fire if they aren't ready.

Jasmine would be a great pick up if healthy! Also, i have learned to stop underestimating this staff and that they will get something out of who they coach!

I will be pleased if it is Jasmine. She has great stats but by far the most impressive honor IMO is the defensive MVP of the conference. I love a great defensive player, so if she is added we could always put a defensive oriented lineup along with Wynn, Powell/BM, Jordy, and Key if we needed to catch a spark, comeback in a game, or just wear a team out with our depth. Also, how ridiculous to think that Kellie would not do a boom for any commitment she gets. It would be an insulting way to enter the LV world if the coach who recruited you and highlighted the family nature of the team then excludes you from a boom that she gave to the others. What are some people thinking! Not all recruits can be at the Jackson level, especially when you already have a loaded team. This would be impressive to add another player of this caliber to our team. And if not her, I am glad Kellie reeled another good one whoever they are.

Here’s one possible conclusion that I came to for the recent commitment.. perhaps this is a player who has plans to visit the campus and take photos in LV apparel before making their announcement official.
I know everyone is ready to know right now but if this is the case just be patient! I’m exciting about the news and it’s worth the wait 🍊!

You know what? You’re totally right. I shouldn’t have said that. I should have more faith in the coaches that whoever they bring in it will be for the good of the team.
