Transfer Portal 21-22

They are losing I guess lol I don’t know she has the minutes and a starting spot who knows
She'd have to sit out the rest of the year and they've played a lot of games. Probably gonna take the COVID year, so doesn't care that she wasted her eligibility this year.

She looks like the kind of player that is a "must have" for MSST

Why/How was it decided to allow in-season portal entry? I guess a player can quit a team anytime, but why not wait til spring to have an official portal time? May-September? Why distract fm the season?

So she can enroll in another school for the next semester. Seeing a lot of players doing that evidently fed up with where they are.
I don't think she would be eligible next semester. She will have used up her eligibility this season, but will probably take the extra COVID year so she gets 4 total years of playing.

Of course. But I think any player that quits on their team mid season, and while healthy, puts a major character question mark on their file that needs to be answered.

a player has to be in the transfer portal may 1 2021 to able play this year after they have to wait for 2022 - 2023 season. play they may able to start school at start of winter term and practice with their new team to get head start for next season.

I believe you will find that, absent a waiver, the NCAA regs require a year in residence at the new school before being allowed to play. A player who starts at a new school in January 2022 at the beginning of a term would not be able to play until January 2023 at the beginning of the term.

That certainly hasn’t been the way that the portal has functioned with the football players. We had players that transferred in the spring participating in fall camp and on the field in the fall. Wasn’t Dye’s transfer similar and quick to the floor?

Dye was a grad transfer. The rules are different. And, as to the football players, without knowing about a particular case, it is hard to comment. I have noticed that the NCAA has been more casual with the granting of waivers over the last year or three!

they pass one transfer for all players who have not transfer . and they said next year cutoff date is may 1 they had tell july this year.

Grad transfers are totally different they can enroll at the beginning of any semester and be eligible to play as long as they have eligibility left. If there was a player out there that sat out a year because of injury or redshirted a season and has graduated they could enroll anywhere and still be eligible to play. Underclassmen that transfer could enroll at a new school and take classes, but would not be eligible to play this season. They would have to wait until next season. Players that get in the portal and have never transferred between May 1st and July 1st are eligible to play the next season November. After July 1st you must sit out the season and become eligible the next season. Tennessee may be looking for one or two players in the portal between May 1st and July 1st next year and they would be eligible to play in November.

May 1st to July 1st eligible to play when season starts in September. After July 1st cannot play in September would have to sit out until the next season.
