Transfer Portal 22-23

As a parent…… I would love my kid on scholarship to sit the bench at Stanford, Duke , even Vandy ! What an education!

Trust me, the actual education is NO better than Tennessee at Sanford or Duke! Perhaps the prestige is better. Perhaps the social networking is better.

Yet you say players in other programs will transfer and to mark your words. You come across as a huge bully on this site just so you know and obviously you don’t care or actually know. Kisses.

Thanks for the feedback. I will defend the players from drive by posters.

Am I perfect? No.

Do I frequently speculate, pontificate, and call players out for poor play in game threads? Yes.

That’s the competitor in me. I believe in every one of these women and want to see them gives their best and their all for Tennessee. I try not to harp on things too much anymore and try not to bring up poor play outside of the active game thread.

I always own what I post, apologize for what I need to and ignore the rest.

Will I always jack with UConn fans, Darth and his drone accounts on here? 1000% so if you see me saying something crazy and it’s in response to any of them, just know I put about 0.5 second of thought into that post. It’s literally just to make them scratch their heads.

Most of the Vol fans I go back and forth with on here I have chatted with for years and have some rapport. They understand where I’m coming from and we have great conversations.

Short of a full ride, my kids are going to community college.

My mom was an early college access counselor for 30 years. Her mantra was always “It does not matter where you start, it only matters where you finish.”

15 doctors/advanced practice providers in my immediate family (self, sibling, grandpa, 7 uncles, and 5 cousins). All of my uncles spent 2 years at the junior college and then transferred to University of Florida.

I went to a D2 state school and regret absolutely nothing. I got a fabulous education, had wonderful professors, small class sizes and it was affordable. Wouldn’t trade my experiences for the world. My sister and brother both attended a very nice private Catholic school on scholarships (golf for my brother and academics for sis), they got a great education also.

An education is something nobody can ever take away from you. I find it sad that learning is cost prohibitive in the modern world. My grandfather had 4 degrees (Bachelors at The Citadel, Masters at William and Mary, Masters at Florida State and a doctorate. Can you imagine what that would cost in this day and age?

well, that all depends upon what you mean by "set for life," especially when you consider that life is eternal
Guess that depends on which schools are teaching ideology versus education. Stanford versus Bob Jones. Which school do you get more education versus ideology at?

I never said anything about Bob Jones, so I don't know what your fixation on them is about, but whatever. You win. Happy now?

Just pointing out ideology can cut both ways with the BJU comparison.
Also, I certainly agree with you that a high salary is not a guarantee of happiness and that a spiritual base of one’s choosing is imminently important. Statistically speaking though, household income is directly related to better health outcomes, longer life, marital happiness, lower chance of kids with addiction problems or teen pregnancies. All in all, I would want that for my kid.
But enough of that!!!!!!! Back to the basketball!!!!!

Vic definitely better hit the portal. I truly believe he was banking on landing Rickea to help his team... Nope

I agree, Aliyah Moore is a really nice player, as is Morris. Wouldn’t be surprised to see either in the portal. They have been out with injury and they really had no backup.

Gaston is athletic but she really can’t create for herself. Mostly lives off oboards and the occasional jumper.

Some nice players in the portal already. The tourney is my favorite time of year.

The month after it ends and the transfer portal gets hot is a close second. I’m really, really hoping we pursue Jada Walker. Could depend on Powells plan, but she’s fun to watch.

Micheaux is a really nice player out of Michigan. Seems to be a little bit of a transfer pipeline to Knoxville for those Michigan girls.

well, that used to be true and probably still is for a few majors, but like most colleges these days, ideology supersedes education most of the time

Sorry that is a really sweeping generalization that one hears a lot Fox news but it does not match the reality of higher education. Or let me restate, how do you define ideology and how is it superseding education most of the time.

In general I have found that people use ideology as a catch-all for ideas they dislike. So if there is a course in feminist theory or the history of race conflict in the United States, well that is ideology!!!, that my kids delicate minds should never be exposed to.

Gaston problem is she needs to be a better finisher at the rim.

Madison Bartley (6-3 JR forward, Kettering, OH) has announced that she's entering her name into the portal, out of Belmont WBB; 2022-23 stats: 14.1 PPG, 5.1 RPG; first-team All-MVC

Will be a nice pickup for someone

I agree, she’s very similar to Striplin. Really nice 3 point shot and bangs in the post defensively. Doesn’t have much of a post up game.

She’d make a great stretch 4 for a team like UGA, Vandy or MIZZOU if we are talking SEC.
