I'm unaware of where we stand with Lexi Dornoski. However, I think she would be a day one starter for Horston at the two.

Lexi was Big 12 Freshman in 20/21. She was Big 12 Defensive Player of the year in 21/22. Overall, her shooting average is 38% but her defensive prowess at six feet tall make her a valuable asset. She will have options. She could be our defensive stopper.

If I understand what I just read about her ? She was hurt her first year and would have been a red shirt Sophomore this year … 3 more years to play ? 🤷‍♂️

Avery? she didn’t produce on a bad pitt team. I wouldn’t waste a schalorship on a player who wouldn’t see the floor much

36% from 3 in the best conference in the country. Avg 7 ppg 1.5 reb and less than a turnover as a freshman. Didn’t produce? Interesting take

6 point per game and shooting 38% overall is not someone who will play much here. Plus a 50% free throw shooter. I would much rather get a scorer in the portal. I’m not saying she’s a bad player, just not something we need.

I don’t disagree the SEC probably isn’t the best fit for her on style. ACC and Pac type player. But already had more experience than half our bench and a few others who will never see the floor. I’m all for our instate girls tho. All out great TN teams had them as the backbone

Her conference numbers are better than her overall. Also she is a freshman. Her overall percentage was lowered by her 3 point volume. She only averaged a single 2 per game at 43%. 4-8 from the free throw line for the whole season isn’t exactly a tell. Numbers are deeper than that.

Just look at the “great” freshman across the country. She stacks up very well.

I would put her at the Pg position.

Honestly I know you all like some of the players out there and I do too. I also think it would be wise to maybe pick up only one in the next month and then wait, because I feel like better players are going to enter the portal. I still got this feeling that Morrow from DePaul will be transferring and that's who I really want. She would change the whole complex on this Tennessee team. Just my thoughts

I tend to agree.

I have a feeling we may have something with Donarski but we will see. She was in Knoxville for the first two rounds then in the portal right after. I don’t think our staff would have done anything untoward but seeing that environment and being in Knoxville may have had her wheels turning.

Plus watching us slaughter a Toledo team her team just lost to.

Finley said, “her family made the decision.” Which I have heard him say before, he’s always pretty salty about stuff like this. I don’t think he views his players as adult women. He looks at them as girls who need their fathers to make decisions. Outside looking in opinion, but I dislike that. I appreciate that Kellie treats these ladies like mature, young women.

Interesting player in the portal and a good addition for someone. Averaged 40 percent from the three in her three seasons at San Francisco University and 17 ppg last season. Not only shoots the three but can drive to the basket.

Ik its alot of people that love Lexi Dornoski and want to go that route, why tho i know we all watch the same game against toledo....and 2 things we need is a the ability to score and create and stop guard penatration which we werent good at i know she won defensive player of the year but the flim and games i watched iowa state has alot of slow footed players which was there demise against toledo we have a bunch of player like her already

Yes but she is not one of the slow footed ones. She was rated number 14 in the 2020 class and had a 98 rating. She is plenty quick can pass, get to the basket and shoot the three. If we have a chance to get her I know we won't hesitate. She is an exceptional player that will be a lot better in the right system with the right coach.
