But that's only to enter the portal. Once in the portal, there is no deadline for the athlete to choose a new school. Also, the deadline does not apply to grad transfers, who can enter the portal at any time.

That is true it is your free ride time only. You have to find a school by that time or you will have to sit out a season. If you are a Grad Transfer it does not pertain to you. Those transfers can take as long as they want and still be eligible.

I think she could play a lot at places like Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Butler, etc. if what she wants is to get to play a lot. We have to keep trying to get better players whether that is in the portal or elsewhere. Players can't be threatened by that to the point they want to leave. If they are then they are afraid of competition. I can see where she might think she should've got some of Darby's minutes and I tend to agree. Still you just work to get better or transfer to one of the schools I mentioned where you don't have much competition for playing time.

Has anyone considered that she might be homesick and just want to be closer to home? We have no idea why she is leaving unless she says so. All we can do is wish her well and hope she finds what she is looking for.
