For years it stood there just a shell, that was really freaky. Always did wonder about the story behind it. I think the doors and lack of lower windows is what is so creepy now.

It looks like a kill house. No stairs to the front door.

I heard that it was somebodys parents house that used to flood all the time so they were building it up high but the parents died and they never finished it.

There was actually a house there a long time ago, as long as I can remember. I'll ask my dad, he should know. He graduated in '58 if I remember correctly.

Talked to my dad. He said that there has been a house there as long as he can remember. He said it was there when he was a kid. He said that it was always flooding there and because of that was always in disrepair. He's not sure of the current situation but he doesn't think anyone has lived there in a long time. He recommended that I speak with my uncle to get the story. I'll ask him when I see him.

Hey I need to take my trash to the dump. Can I do that any day? (Today for example?)

And where is the dump? A google search gets confusing.

The dump is on Beaver Creek. Go right on Emory off sharp. Go to brickyard and take a left at Bojangles. Go to Beaver Creek and make a left. Turn left into industrial park after crossing railroad tracks. The website should show you hours.

Looks like 8-6

Hey is the HPUD water bills out here as bad as all the reviews are making them out to be?

I'm hearing it's badly overpriced. The reviews are saying several hundred a month. Surely they are exaggerating aren't they?

They are not that bad. I've had some run-ins with them at my business but they're not that expensive. Like most utilities, it's a captive audience so their customer service is terrible. They have the attitude of "we may suck but we're all you've got." Our bill at our home runs $60 or so per month. We don't have sewer though so that would add some.

Hope you're settling in and it's going well.
