Traveling around the SEC. Prettiest campuses that you have visited overall?

Yes. Per my previous post calling out listing Bama as a pretty campus was a dead give away. The whole state is a massive trailer park. Bama and Pretty shouldn’t be in the same sentence.
The only thing pretty about Bama campus is where the sorority houses line the street.. kind of an old money neighborhood, other than that.. nothing to write home about.. that was the clue for me that he was a troll

South Carolina at #2 will baffle people that have never seen anything but the stadium 5 miles away in an industrial park.
been to their campus about a dozen times and you have to ignore how ugly the city of Columbia is to say the campus is pretty. and the campus is right smack dab in the middle of downtown Columbia, not adjacent like UT/Knoxville.

The campus is green, but it really only feels nice in their quad, but none of the buildings around the quad are nice. if you want to get to their rec center you have to cross a 4 lane highway, there are a couple classroom buildings over there too. I think there is one bridge, but its way off to the side and not convenient if you are coming from main campus. my sister always complained, you were either a 2 minute walk to your next class or you were ten minutes of walking to your car, ten minutes of driving to your next class.

FWIW I thought UT's campus was pretty trashy too at the time I was going over to USC. now that UT has done all the street improvements and plantings its much nicer.

That’s a very fair assessment. I wouldn’t call it a pretty campus, just saying that it’s not as ugly as most people probably think based on just seeing the stadium.

(PS he would’ve considered UT a lot more but he wants to be a surgeon and OU’s just was rated higher and checked more boxes…bummer. Hoping my daughter goes UT lol anyone knows if they’re dance team is good?)
Tennessee's combined spirit squad has won the National championship 3 or 4 times in the last 5 years. ( they perform during the football games and they announce the championships, also I think my wife just saw them win it again this year).

i toured 31 campuses with my son before he settled at OU.

I believe it is so subjective based on personal taste.

Example: I could see how someone would think UVA is amazing. I thought it looked like Washington DC extended. Seemed cold. All brick and white. Not my taste.

Wake Forest had such a colonial look that I loved but wouldn’t want to go to school there. UT was beautiful and the mountains. 😩 Indiana University was gorgeous if you like the limestone. Duke was breath taking but felt like I was in a musuem. Vandy? I don’t get it folks. I was so underwhelmed. Few gorgeous buildings and that’s it. Michigan was very pretty. I live in WI and idk why anyone would think UW would be gorgeous. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Anyway I could answer that question 19 different ways but for me and my son’s taste we felt the same that OU’s campus had a Harry Potter vibe going on. He isn’t there for the beauty of campus but we felt it was somewhat up there for the 30 schools we visited and just fit his taste well. He’s a frosh and doing well.

May I ask why you wouldn't want to go to school at Wake Forest..... Absolutely beautiful campus, small enrollment, and academically one of the top schools in the country.

Oh that was my wife’s first choice. His list included medical ranking, distance from home and ideally wanted a super awesome team to follow and be a fan of in sports.

Wake didn’t make the final four cut for him. Nothing bad about it only too small for him. He wanted bigger than that.

But it was my wife’s dream one out of all of them. I know a guy who ran track and XC there and loved it

Auburn and UGA (sadly) have very nice campuses.

I was tempted to go old school and throw GT on there, but nobody with functional eyes will every call that concrete mess beautiful.
But...but...but it's right next to Coca-Cola HQ!

Auburn is pretty, Alabama is just ok nothing spectacular. Tennessee is the best to me because of river and that it’s not flat. The smokies in the distance is beautiful.

Ole Miss is gorgeous and love the grove. Women are drop dead gorgeous. Love Knoxville, mountains and river. Non SEC but Tulane is kinda nice.

Depends on what metric you are using to grade them. There are some really pretty campuses that are in the middle of nowhere. I always use Notre Dame as an example. The campus is gorgeous, but there isn't a single thing to do for an hour in any direction. Starkville, Columbus, Auburn and Tuscaloosa are all similar in that regard I suppose. Personally, I enjoy visiting LSU and Georgia the most, but those certainly aren't necessarily the prettiest campuses.

My son (who is a HUGE Vol Fan) goes to Auburn because of the Professional Flight Program. He really does love the campus and the family feel down there. I gotta admit, it is a very pretty place. He would have gone to UT if they had a PF Degree. Not to mention out-of-state tuition was gonna beat us up.

Baylor's campus was pretty nice. Nothing that absolutely wowed me, just a lot of really nice pieces.
